Censorship getting out of hand!

No, I am not talking about moderation.

I'm talking about the robo-censorship of certain words. That the filter is so stupid that it finds substrings in perfectly innocuous words and ****s them up royally.

Seriously, if the robo-filter is going to make assumptions about language because of perfectly inoccuous substrings, it's going to prove to be a real hassle to communication, and we'd be better off without it. Or at least without it's **** substring filter ****ing up our ****ing posts... :)

Dave... the problem wasn't the site, the problem was the poster's inability to spell. I saw that post, the problem is not with the site.

I thought that might have had something to do with it as well, which is part of the reason I made certain I used the same word the original poster attempted to use.

It's just that I've been seeing a lot of uselessly-interspersed ***terisks :) lately.

Hey, it's still better than the first revision where over on GTTP we couldn't refer to Certain Important People by their given names... :)

Here in Washington state there is a town on the eastern side that has a big problem with their library's computers. They have software installed that won't allow people to search porn, etc. Now........... This all makes sense.......... HOWEVER! The town's folk cannot do any historical searches on the library's computer involving their hometown. The problem? The town is called Toppenish. True.

I work at a Travel magazine. We have a similar filter here at my office which prohibits us from accessing porn sites. The funny thing is that we also cannot access the official tourism website for Cancun, can****ourism.com [and if you look at that URL closely you'll see why...LOL].
