Cedar Point's Wildcat Gets Painted!

After I don't know how many years the Wildcat at Cedar Point is finally getting a much needed paint job. The paint job started last week with the preassure washing of the entire ride. The last 2 days they have spent putting a maroon primer on the track and painting the white supports. I was hoping to see the old blue and red come back. There is also a rumor that it may be getting new cars as well.

Boy, even with all the money they're spending on this new ride, they're still finding alot of money to improve everything else as well. Mantis and Wildcat getting painted...

Does it need new cars? They track wonderfully.

I wonder how much a Wildcat car goes for...

I do know for a fact that it is getting painted (seen with my own eyes) as far as the new cars rumor I will believe it when I see it. Maybe someone else has heard something?

I was at the park on Sunday and rode WC, but I really didn't notice anything

Mantis is getting a new paintjob? News to me.

Mantis was supposed to get painted for this season but it got held back a year. They have already begun to paint Mantis as the CP painters have been working on the station and the canopy supports while an outside company will be doing the main part of the ride.

As far as I know Mantis is going to be the same colors! Once again it will be the brillant Red, Yellow, and Purple that it used to be!

Yeah hopefully Magnum will be painted this year. At least it isn't as bad as some rides like the Demon at SFGAm. You can see the old red paint on that coaster, so as you can see, things can be a lot worse than Mantis.

Where can you see "old red paint" on Demon?

There are many stages to the paint fiasco on Mantis. First the red paint faded to pink. Then the pink faded to white (probably primer). Now the white on the high turn is wearing away to expsode the bare metal of the ride. It needs/ed it bad, like 3 years ago.
