Cedar Point's Shoot The Rapids still not open

For the third straight weekend, Cedar Point's new Shoot the Rapids ride continues to fire blanks. The ride was supposed to debut May 15 on the park's season opening weekend. Here's my latest amazement with this ride not being open.

In 2003, TTD opened for media day after reportedly being struck by lightning the night before. Supposedly it took all night to make sure everything would be up and running for the following morning.

STR has been delayed almost a month because, among other things, they can't drain the water out of the boats fast enough.

Maybe they should make 'bailing water' part of the ride experience?

To say that Dragster ran on its media day is an overstatement. Limped along a little is better. :)

Didn't some people around here complain oh...about a year or so ago that CP led them astray with their "poor" PR techniques and that they probably wouldn't flock to a water ride anyways??

It's shocking to see how fast things change....

No, they would be selling Official Shoot the Rapids Souvenir Pails for $19.95. Only $1.99 to refill with soft drinks.

I don't know what everyone here is talking about.

According to an article in today's (6/06) edition of "The Record",out here in NJ, STR has been open to the public since 5/29.

According to my eye balls at Cedar Point this Friday, it was not
