Cedar Points "new" ad campaign

me swear off and future use of Millie and Maggie

That's good advice for everyone! That's just my preference, I suppose, but I never liked those nicknames.

The non-twisting shot on #2 is probably a zoom from one of the levels...

I feel stupid submitting this since somebody else will get picked and maybe more garbage for jeff to pick through. I like 1 the best nad 2 and 3 felt way to scripted, though I though I didn't really like all that much except for the shots of the coasters, that was some wild stuff. I thought Six Flags was way better though I felt Cp could have done better. Millie and Maggie? Never heard anyone say that.
joe,
good guess, but I don't think so for 3 reasons...
-the camera bounces and shakes a little, like it's on the train
-if it were mounted to the track, it would have to look through the back of the cars (inc. the theming). Plus, it would kind of be in the way
-not even the best focus puller could've zoomed in that precisely, and a zoom would've created a different feel to the footage.

I'm convinced it was some rotating rig mounted to the car somehow

You've never heard of anyone call them Millie or Maggie? You've obviously never been to GTTP.

Many of the ride ops on Magnum this year use the name Maggie. If you want to ride her, by all means do, but don't mock her nickname...:)

It's still me, here from the beginning back in 1999. Add 1500+ posts to the number I have in the info section if you care about such things.
I say......who cares....

They are just commericals.....

Then you're welcome to not post here ever again. This is what we talk about on an enthusiast site. Go away sonny.

I would've put the second and third commercials in a steel bucket and set fire to them.

The first one's fine, though. Frat boy struggling to communicate a thought = funny.

Well, here is my guess on the vid#2 thing.

I think it could just be a mounted camera shot that has been edited with a simple rotation effect to compensate.

Modern high-end non-linear editing programs could easily create this effect with a camera still mounted on the train. *** Edited 5/2/2004 12:42:45 AM UTC by James K***

Guess who's back? Back Again? James K's back. Tell a friend.

Impuls-ive said:Just out of sheer curiosity, to those that feel they are the "worst commercials ever" or other varitions(sic) on that, what would you have done?

What would I have done? I would've told the ad agency that I hired that they weren't getting a check until they go back to the drawing board and not turn in something they did for a freshman year "Video Productions 101" project. Seriously, one of my first projects in college was to script and shoot a 30 second commercial spot for the product of my choice. It was better than this. (Except for the video quality... stupid Panasonic Reporters.)

You sold out, man. I liked your hair better the other way. That sweater also makes you look fat... especially in your chest.

Edited to sound less drunk.

Hi

CTTP I live in massachusetts, so Im not around cedar point. I didn't think I was mocking it, was I? I guess I was from how it sounded. I just meant I never heard it before thats all, nothing else. What does gttp stand for?
I like the first one-it just shows how exciting the ride is (to me anyway). the second and third sucked, "and the airtime in the tophat, and the 270 degree spiral" give me a break. that sounded horrible.

i love maggie, and then you have millie, not to mention manty, rapty, and gemmy. don't forget cedar creeky and iron draggy.

sorry, i hate wen people say maggie and millie. just me though :)

Thanks person, I feel dumb, I know that site I just don't go there since I live in MASS.
