Cedar Point Ride Policy

Tomorrow I leave for Cedar Point but I have some last minute questions. If I have a bag of stuff and am wearing flip flops can I leave the stuff in the station like at PC or do I have to get a locker like at IOA? I know that on Millennium Force you have to have a locker right? You can't even have any loose items to get into line, I saw on a show. So should I just not bring a bag and wear running shoes or will I be able to store my bag in the station(and if I can't how much do the lockers cost?)

Also, the forecast shows rain for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. For Wednesday and Thursday, I'll be at Cedar Point. What rides will be closed down in the rain. And if it starts to thunder, what rides will close down. On Friday I am going to SFWOA, what rides there will close down in the rain? Thanks in advance.

At CP, you will not be able to take the bag onto most coasters. When I went, they had people at just about every coaster entrance telling people to put their stuff in a locker. Get a locker by MF and just visit it accordingly, that's what I did. As for rain, I'm not sure but I would think most things would shut down in the rain (if it's hard enough).

The only rides that you can't stuff with you into line are:

Corkscrew, Deamon Drop, MF, and Wicked Twister. Raptor, Mantis, and Power Tower have places for you to put your items. On any other coaster you have to take your items with you. You can't leave them on the side. You would be amazed at the number of people that think that they aren't allowed to take things with them!

Thanks, so I guess that I wont bring anything. It will just be easier that way. I hate the stress of having to keep up with stuff anyways

what is their policy on sandals on rides?
What do you mean? Shoes are required in the park. Anything with a stiff sole is considered a "shoe". If it's likely to fly off, then remove it and leave it behind before riding Raptor, Wicked Twister, Power Tower, Lolly Swing, or Wave Swinger. For those five rides, you can ride barefoot and you can leave your sandals behind. Other than that, sandal = shoe and you're fine on all coasters including Mantis:The Coaster Formerly Known as Banshee.

Who vaguely remembers a strange shoe rule on the stand-up at Canada's Wonderland...

Lockers are 75c to open, and a 5.00 fee if ya lose the key, so hold onto it. There are only 3 rides, as named above, with strict no-carry policies. The Tower has a table for your stuff right in front of your seat...but don't bring a prize basketball, or an extra large stuffed animal...because they can't come through. All the coasters except the couple named above have boxes for your stuff, but it's a good idea to pack light and play games at the END of the day...the games stay open a lil while after the rides close (not long tho). And remember...no beer cups in line either!

So on Raptor and Wicked Twister(and all other non-flipflop rides), I can leave my sandals in the station? Thanks for all the replies

The ONLY thing I'm not sure about is WT...because it's a non-carryon ride, and I'm not sure how flip-flops would work in that situation. Anyone?

Is Wicked Twister back and running again? I know it was down for a whole day.

Wicked Twister has a set of enclosed shelves in the station to accommodate your loose shoes. Also canes, crutches, and umbrellas, but apparently the person running the queue the day I was carrying an umbrella wasn't aware of that...

Great, thanks a lot. In twenty four hours, I will be seeing the rides that I have dreamed about forever. Can't wait to finally get to Cedar Point.

I wore a fanny pack on every ride execpt millennium force and power tower. on all the others i was allowed to but no on those two. The rain policy is millenium force and magnum are closed in any rain light or heavy but others close only if lightning or thunder are seen or heard. When it rains at cp it only rains for a hour tops. The ride that is always open rain or shine is disaster transport cuz its an indoor ride. also dont be surprised if wicked twister isnt open cuz i went on saturday and it was close all day due to technical difficulties.

First of all, I have carried my small belt bag on every coaster in the park including Millennium Force. Backpacks are no good, but belt bags are OK. Second, if it rains, the first two rides to go down are Demon Drop and Wildcat. Third, I've suffered through all-day rain storms at Cedar Point. Fourth, the roof over Disaster Transport leaks, so if it rains hard, that one goes down as well. Furthermore, Corkscrew, Gemini, and Mantis all have operational issues that prevent them from running in a rain storm.

Should I go to Wicked Twister first instead of Millennium Force? Maybe I would get on it before it broke down. I will get in at 9:30 for two days so maybe the first day I could go to Wicked Twister and the next day go to Millennium Force.

Gemini also goes down pretty quick. Magnum can run in light rain. MF ran in some pretty fierce rain last year. Power Tower will run in a monsoon! All coasters will close if lightning is close - that one's prety obvious anywhere. They're pretty good about getting things back up and running when rain slows or lightning moves out of the area.

I'd suggest you hit MF first since it has had the longest lines thus far. Also, WT has been down for a few days so there's no telling if it'll even be running. CP's real good about having everything up and running though, so I'm sure if possible, it will be running. If not, there are 67 other rides. :)

I'll be pretty sad if WT isn't running even though there are 67 other rides. I am looking forward to so many of the rides and that is close to the top of my list. I can only pray that it is open. How are the lines for Wicked Twister? Would it be stupid to go to it first if it is open to make sure that I ride it before it breaks down?
You know, I hadn't thought of it that way! :) I guess since it hasn't been having the best of luck lately, that might not be a bad idea. ;) You can always ride MF last - jumping in line right before closing. There is Freeway this year too, so you can attempt to get a stamp and avoid the wait.

I will be heading up to Cedar Point tommarow as well. I got bored of PKI rides and wanted some new ones so im really hoping for WT to be open

Yeah i was pretty surprised that my friend was able to bring his bookbag on magnum. Thats pretty stupid that you can't set things off to the side on WT. I can see for some of the coasters with 3 trains but WT is a shuttle.
