Associated parks:

Yes, they frequently do have waits under an hour. And? That's reason to not try some kind of queue management?
As for who determined the need, it was the VP of marketing who told me the need was there and an expectation of guests. Given the amount of surveys the park does, it wouldn't surprise me if they ascertained this by their own market research. You might want to consider for a moment they know a thing or two about running a park, given their virtually universal respect in the industry (maybe Agent Johnson can chime in on that one).
Next question?

And are they respected for their wooden coasters? Is everyone respecting them for braking Mean Streak?
Since it looked you were stating most of the things as fact, I was just wondering where these facts came from. That's all. Like you've told me before, don't say it unless you're prepared to defend it. So, is there a problem with me asking questions?
Is there some reason you can respond to Jeremy politely and most adults, but not me and several young people before. It's not like they have enough self-esteem as it is and to have you crack jokes at them doesn't help. You know we don't know better... I like you and this site, but I would never let my kids be exposed to this "hostyl" atmosphere. ;)

Dude... you're going in circles. What does being first have to do with anything? You've introduced one unrelated thing after another (Disney, why do they need it, who was first) into something that started out as a trip report.
If you think you're being picked on... don't flatter yourself. I'm not interested nor do I have time to pick on anyone.

Man..Lighten up "Koaster King"...
Yes, CP has the HIGHEST ride capicity of any park in the world...and just becuase CP does it does not make it "perfect" (ie Ticket To Ride). Cedar Point is just trying to meet the EVER CHANGING attitudes of the park's guests...We live in a society when "reservations" are being made for EVERYTHING...heck the mid-price restaurants (ie AppleBee's) have even started a "system" where you can CALL AHEAD and can be placed on the waiting list so once you are actually at the restaurant your wait is about 5/10 minutes....Some people use this method, some do not. Same thing with the FREEWAY System at CP...Some people will use it some will not.
And don't PRAISE DISNEY or anyone else for a FASTPASS type system unless you keep in mind one of the main reason for the parks (yes even CP) to use this type of system...If guests are "busy" waiting in line...They are not able to spend time and money SHOPPING...The parks have found a way to let you "reserve" your ride time and then have shopping time instead of having to wait inline.
AS for you feeling picked on by Jeff or anyone on this board...GROW UP...If you post useless points about a specific thread you will be slammed...The FASTPASS at Disney cannot handle the volume CP would need. Keep in mind CP CROWDS are LARGER on average than DISNEY WORLD (Magic Kingdom) during the CP SEASON.
Instead of jumping on Jeff for posting INFORMATION about a NEW SYSTEM. Step back and look at the facts. While the FREEWAY SYSTEM is new to CP and it's market, this is an area the WHOLE industry has been experimenting with and are still trying to find the RIGHT fit for each park.
Let's give parks like DISNEY and CP credit for at least implementing a FREE system for this.

Just a quick question how can CP(3.1 million) have more people in during the season than MK(14.1million). CP season is only 6 months and only 3 months a truely busy, lets say there attendance for the 3 months is 2.5 million with the other 600 thousand over the 3 months that are slow.
Now for the busy months they average less than 1 million a month, compared to MK's who averages 1 million a month through all 12 months, and we know they are slow for a few months during winter, so they have to make some of that up during the summer.
I'm not trying to be a jerk but I dont see how CP gets more people than MK during an average day in the summer.

This is a good point. Also, in addition to this, virtual queuing is intended to extend the length of a guest's stay in the park because instead of waiting say 45 minutes in a regular line, the Fastpass/Freeway (whatever) makes you wait say 1.5 or 2 hours. Yes, you can be doing other things during this time which makes it nicer than baking in the sun, but don't kid yourself, its all about the dollar! CP is responding to the market's demand for such a system by trying Freeway. Even the most hardcore CP fans (GTTP) admitted Ticket to Ride, which was used in 2000 for Millennium Force, was a disaster. This new system seems like it might actually be fair for all involved. Personally, I don't really care for the systems, but if a good percentage of the guests want it, at least this system is fair for those who use it and those who don't (unlike TTR). I don't think anyone is disputing that Disney has been a leader in this area, but just because other parks are trying it now doesn't mean it's a bad thing. Batman at SFGAM (I think) was the first inverted coaster. That doesn't mean that other parks like CP (Raptor), BGW (Alpengeist), BGT (Montu), IOA (Deuling Dragons) all suck because they weren't first.
I am not sure about CP having a higher daily attendance during the summer than Disney. Doesn't seem possible. CP is one of the best attended seasonal parks and gets between 3 and 3.5 million guests per season (mostly in July and August), but I don't think they have a higher daily attendance than MK. Maybe on one or two days they have more than MK on that particular day, but not on average. I could be wrong - not sure...

1) Well, I've not seen anything said on the topic of Freeway besides your Trip Report, so I asked it here to you because you mentioned it.
2) Going in circles? Did I repeat any topic twice? I thought I was just going further into the discussion, but if I'm just re-iterating things over and over, let me know. I didn't notice.
3) Disney is related because they were the first AFAIK to introduce the free ride reservation system and you said something about CP's new system being a "slam" to the SF pay systems, etc. I was just saying something sort of like Jeremy said about why would the free system be a "slam" if the SF parks knew they could have a free system because Disney is sucessful with it. I didn't see your point in saying that.
4) You said something to the extent of the "people" asking for the system and I asked why the people thought they needed it if the lines are almost always under an hour and the queue can be shaded, etc. Of course its always great to have the lines shorter, but this mainly came about, because I thought people acted like CP was already perfect and they didn't need the system. Thanks Coaster God for your help on this one. I do appreciate it.
5) Am I making any sense at all? Was I wrong in asking any of this? I think a few people have made this a lot bigger than I actually mean it to be.
6) I wouldn't necessarily say you were "picking" on me, and I never thought of it as that way. It just looks like you're acting like "I don't really need to respond to you or treat you kindly because I'm older, better, more important than you, etc." Not that you would have to think about it or do it on purpose. Just that it kind of "comes off" that way like I said. It's not something that would "take your time away". It would just be how you act. If that's it, I understand, but I notice a difference when you talk to some people and then talk to other people. I don't mean just "me" in particular either. If that's not it at all, I apologize, but I think it would have been easier just to give some answers than to argue about it. That's no fun.
7) Call me on it if I'm out of line!! I don't want to keep looking stupid... Oops! Already did that. ;)
8) Thanks Coaster God for your response again. I think I got almost everything I asked for out of it. I know that no park is perfect, but some people act like some are as a fact. If someones going to treat something as a fact, I like to see where they are.

I AM LIGHTENED UP... all the time. I don't want to get worked up and hopefully I'm not making anyone else get WORKED UP. These were fairly SIMPLE questions I thought.
What were my USELESS POINTS? I would like to see what they were in particular if you don't mind. I thought they all were useful. For the most part, I thought I was QUESTIONING the SYSTEM and its origins and not necessarily making any points about anything. They weren't rhetorical questions. I was being SERIOUS.
Where did I say I felt PICKED ON? What do I need to GROW UP about? I suppose you have to ask questions to learn things and that's what I'm doing. I wouldn't feel picked on because I realize I'm was being PICKY back, so I have no EXCUSE there.
Does CP really have the HIGHEST RIDE CAPACITY even over MK? Is CP really BUSIER than MK daily in the summer?
Thanks for the FREE system Disney, CP, and Universal! It really does make my day A LOT EASIER and the waits between time go a lot FASTER. I hope even more parks go the Free way. FREEWAY!
Nice CAPITALIZED system. Really brings the points out.

Danny
The reason I hate to have the last word is because then I don't get a response from the other person, so I don't know what they're thinking. I really hope that at the end of every debate or discussion I or anyone else is in, they finally all come to a conclusion and say "Let's be friends and move on to the next thing. This is really getting old." At the point I know its time to let go. Something tells me I should have already let go though. ;)
So, no Chitown. A definite NO! Have a good day! :)
edit I guess this isn't really that important to argue over and thanks for everyone's kind words and support... =^p I'll go ahead my own advice like Coasterr said. I just don't want everyone to dislike me over it, because all of Coasterbuzz and any discussion forum of the likes is just supposed to be fun and also where you get some cool information. I don't want anyone to hate or dislike me over something simple like this. There's not anyone I dislike here even if they were to call me a buckin pit door custard stitch. I'm pretty easy to get along with... no matter how I've "come off" here. Don't take offense if anything has. I won't either. Past is passed. Bon jour! :)

Well, it would probably be best to follow your own advice. It's very apparent, Jeff is not going to respond to you. That's why I had asked the question, "Why are you obessessed with trying to prove Jeff wrong". I understand you are debating and trying to prove a point, but cmon, man......
