In an article in Sandusky's newspaper, PR rep Janice Witherow says that the park welcomes the competition from Six Flags Ohio. When asked if it would impact Cedar Point, GTTP Webmaster issues a reality check.

With SFo's recent purchase of (the rest of) Sea World Ohio, I wonder if CP's still sticking to their cards and not at least worrying.
Over 700 acres to play with and all the money in the amusement industry (in SFI) to play with- I doubt in three years that SFO won't at least be on the same plateu as CP.
Call it what you like, but the reality is that SFO is NOT messing around. 5 coasters in two years plus the final purchase of another park across the street- they could double their attendance figures next season depending upon how they handle the transition.
That would be roughly 3.4 million guests if doubled- RIGHT in the target area of CP.

WELL IF SIX FLAGS EVER GOT LIKE CP I WOULD BE GOD OK.
P.S.I'M SURPRISED THAT PEOPLE AREN'T TALKING SMACK ABOUT ME.

Wake up People!!!!!! SFO will never, Let me repeat never compete with CP! That park is like all other Six Flags parks. A total dump!! It seems like no SF ride is ever finished. All of their parks, at least the ones originally owned by premier parks are a complete joke. Mounds of dirt everywhere, heavy equipment on the ride sites, horrible landscape work if any at all, employees who remind me of eyore from winnie the pooh, etc, etc, etc....The only one that I've been to that is someone decent is SFDL. The rest SUCK!!! No matter how much money they dump into SFO, it'll still be a dump. All of their rides are under staffed and how often do you see 3 trains running on a track at a SF park????? Not too often, let me tell you. Just because SFO will have 5 new rides in 2 years and lots of acreage to play with doesn't mean a damn thing. Living in Maine requires me to do some extensive traveling to get in 50 different coasters a year a let me say that I've been to SFO once(2000) and I will never return!! CP however, I will go to again and again and again. Keep up the good work CP and hold your heads high as you truely are America's ROCKIN ROLLER COAST!!!!!!! For that I thank you and you intern should thank your employees. They are by far the most professional in the industry!!!!!!
I'd like to thank everyone supporting Cedar Point ride hosts. We (well...most of us) work our butt's off to make CP safe and enjoyable. Also, rumor has it, we *might* be getting another coaster for 2001...now that one of the other Cedar Fair coaster deals fell through, budgets might get shifted to CP **stay tuned for more**
