Cedar Point isn't ready to let their crown go without a fight. Again.

If only CP sold Magnum ice cream bars in line for Magnum...

CP has Maverick, but SF has El Toro. Hmmmm.. Tie.

^Ouch, meh...

CP has Wildcat, SF has Mind Bender.

Regardless of coaster count (an absolutely meaningless statistic in terms of enjoyment, visit-ability, and certainly profits)....CP has a more well-rounded experience. SFMM has coasters.

I guess the marketing department has a different take on things, though... ;)

Churro's < Cheese on a stick

therefore

SFMM < CP

We're comparing CP and SFMM. Not CP and El Toro. Everyone but Matt knows Toro wins every time.

Oh, I thought we were comparing chains. If it's CP vs. SFMM then CP wins. Magic Mountain can eat a bag of d, err never mind. I hate that place.

Car goes up, car comes down. Can't explain that.

I find amusement in the fact that everyone interested in the industry seems to have a strong need to categorize things while at the same time more and more rides defy categorization and blur the lines.

I not only laughed out loud, but clapped at that comment.

Never a miscommunication.

Was it a slow clap, or more at a medium pace?

+1 That felt good Gonch, to really really agree with you on something :)

Thought this was funny "Innes also said the quality of Cedar Point’s coasters is second to none." I would dispute that; I think of CP as a very large, nice and well operated collection of mostly mediocre rides. Of course, that's only my opinion.

edit - Don't get me wrong, I still had a great time at the park this summer, after an 11 year hiatus. I feel I am not being ripped off at CP, and the operations, as far as thrill parks go, is 2nd to none.

You are so right on this one. They have a big collection of mediocre coasters. I can think of several parks that have less coasters, of higher quality that i would rather spend a day at. Its not always quantity, its quality. CP is based on quantity and hype IMO.

Quality is in the eye of the beholder, and I think both parks have among the overall best in the country. Very different, but both quality.
