On Friday had 3 rides all were loose. Really improves the ride experience when you can "fall" into the vest in the inversions, especially in the front seat. Stunning ride now...
I'm still waiting for them to fix Maverick with the I-305 restraints. That I'll get excited about.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
This past weekend was the perfect weekend to test out reridability. No issues whatsoever. Didn't have much of an issue earlier in the season so maybe I'm not the best one to judge.
agreed, maverick is already rated highly in every steel coaster poll, just imagine it with good restraints
A couple of my buddies and I were discussing the Maverick situation. I pointed out that if I held on to the shoulder straps, I was able to avoid banging my neck on them. They said a ride shouldn't require a special riding technique. They've got a point, but I still love that ride and honestly, holding the straps is a small price to pay for enjoying that ride without pain.
13 Boomerang, 9 SLC, and 8 B-TR clones
I do the same technique, but I agree with your friends that any ride that needs a special technique to enjoy it is flawed.

On Maverick, what is worse for me than the actual restraints is the nub in the seat that really just kind of jams into an awkward spot... lol
^Yeah, when that part ratchets down over the course of the ride, I hope to hell the trains don't stack for too long on the brake runs.
Which they always do, of course...
Parallel lines on a slow decline.
I got to experience less-than-comfortable restraints on I-305, the Premier launches, Maverick, and Mystery Mine. I'm happy the rest of yas "took one for the team" this time around...and esp. happy that CP saw fit to fix these as soon as they did!

It's certainly not enough to get your tighty-whities in a twist...

Rode last night and it did make more of a difference than I expected. I never really had much complaint with them, but this was is much better. My daughter did notice that on one of the trains right inside front row still locked.
Before you can be older and wiser you first have to be young and stupid.
It's always interesting to see how different people react to different rides. I'm 5'11" 165 lbs. I rode Gatekeeper twice in June. I had no problems on ride 1, but on ride 2 the restraints were extremely tight during stacking. It made it impossible to take a deep breath. That experience made me avoid it after that. (Plus, I found it a pretty boring ride.) As for Maverick, it's my #3 favorite coaster and I've never had a single moment of discomfort on that ride. I've always liked the restraints on Maverick. My #1 coaster is I-305, and I have no real problem with those restraints either. Last year, I rode I-305 15 times in three hours. (Basically a walk-on during evening hours in late spring. It was great!) By ride 14, the rubbing of the padded harness against my shoulders had started to irritate me a little, but I counted it a small price to pay for multiple quick re-rides on my favorite coaster!
Rode it twice last night (Front and back rows) The restraints did not ratchet down, so I guess the fix was a success. But both times the ride op really stapled me in. Almost to the point of discomfort right off the bat.

The ride op from a previous trip informed me that all of the restraints on GK had been fixed. So this past Friday, I took a single ride on GK, and it happened to be the seat of the train that your daughter mentioned.
Assuming it was floppy, I gave it a nice snap and said, "Ahhh finally a front seat GateKeeper ride with the fixed restraints." Then, it locked down tighter than I had ever let it get before. Grrr...maybe next time.
At least it made me realize just what an improvement the restraints are now. I'm not sure who was responsible for this fix, but if this was a collaboration with B&M, I hope they quickly update all the other installations.
