Good one, Dave!
Geauga Lake's "BIG DITCH" had a half-sunk Paddle Wheel Ship with a bunch of characters inside. Every year, it looked like it sunk in the marsh a little bit more until they removed it. I miss that ride... good times!

So you could drive and spiel at the same time? Well....helllooooo, mister! ;)
It's like walking and chewing gum. How did we get on this topic anyway?
Alright, I'm officially lost. First "gravy," then "coasters," and now "Paddle Wheel Excursions." Hmmmmm.
I know T+T don't decide what goes in, but any good company will listen to a good idea, they may not act on it but atleast listen. T+T could act like a conduit for good ideas that are inexpensive and add to the park. I am sure over the past 10 years some park somewhere had an employee come up with an idea and ran with it.
Intimidator 305 the tallest most hated coaster nobody has ever ridden...
I took some friends in July, PWE was something we did late because I knew they wanted something more relaxing and they did not know about that ride. We actually got the driver a little off topic and he was doing Yoda voices and star wars stuff. It was a nice change from the typical routine and the boat riders semed to like it. I like that ride for a change of pace. Seldom a line to. I only remember being there and a line more than one boat long twice in I can't count how many trips there.
I was also just joking on the "time" post. I reread it and I guess it does sound defensive. Sorry for that. The voice in my head was sarcastic. I know that does not come across here. I forget that sometimes. No hard feelings.
Alright, well I've nailed the name of KD's new giga "Intimidator" - (although it's "Intimidator 305) - close enough. It will stand 305 feet tall with an 85 degree first drop! That's a drop of both 5 feet taller and 5 degrees steeper than Millie! The cost is $25 million (same as Millie). Hmmmmmm........ I'm thinking something HUGE is coming to CP in 2011-2012. I'm leaning more towards 2012.
Sorry to interrupt your "Paddle Wheel Excursions" gentlemen. No "pun" intended.

You are kidding right? You do know that 305ft is shorter then 310ft, the height of Millennium Force right?
This means nothing in regards to what is coming to Cedar Point. Millennium Force is at least 5x the coaster that this one is. I don't mean in relation to height, speed or length. I mean in the shear amount of materials used in regards to the physical construction.
Notice that most of this coaster is low to the ground. There is a reason for that. Google steel costs and then do the math. Be sure to do it for both 1999 and 2009/2010 and let me know.

Ya know, I just caught the latest on the coaster and realized that my information was incorrect. Then I immediately thought to myself, gee, I better get over to the blog and change my response before one of the other yahoos makes a comment. Apparently I didn't switch over quick enough. It's painfully clear to me that SOME individuals on this blog are not very welcoming to the "newbies." It's also painfully clear to me that mistakes are not tolerated. I was under the misconception that this was suppose to be "fun." If a post contains misinformation is it possible to inform the individual, oh, perhaps nicely?
One more thing....
Arguing on the internet is alot like competing in the Special Olympics....
Even if you win your still RETARDED.
^You really shouldn't take what people say on these forums to heart. They don't try intentionally to be "mean," they just like to occasionally have some fun at your expense. It's not like they're personally attacking you. Well, usually anyway. :)
I can understand why they're usually not so welcoming to "newbies." Most don't read the terms of service, review the forums guidelines, or check their spelling/grammar. Also, calling people names isn't going to get you any respect around here. Just chill out. I don't think Cypr3ss187 was trying to be 'unwelcoming' towards you in any way. Besides, he or she is more of a "newbie" than you are.
I agree with CoasterDudeZach. The comment you received was also from a new poster and not reflective of your experience so far on CoasterBuzz I presume. This is the internet and hypersensitivity to being questioned is going to be a problem for you if you continue to participate here or anywhere else.
Besides, if this comment is indicative of the way you think...:

...then this may not be the right place for you. That kind of commentary is a poor reflection on you.
As has been said to others who have recently joined the site. We are glad you have found CoasterBuzz. But please take some time to understand the culture and the posting guidelines before you jump in. It makes for a better experience for everyone.

Agreed. It took years before Carrie and I hit it off. And now look at us? Heck, soon she may be Mrs. Moosh! (we'll know for sure at PPP).
Yeah... As CDZ said, I am newb in the sense that I don't post on here or any site for that matter but I do read these forums to kill time at work a lot. I wasn't trying to be rude or mean spirited. It's really hard to read expression on the interwebz and things can come off to be rude when they weren't intended to be.
As pointed out by Carrie, if your M.O. is to insinuate someone is handicapped because they poked fun at you, very few friends will be made in forums, regardless of which sites.

Is there anyplace I can make a wager on that? :)
Hey now, don't rule me out! I'm very charming. :)

Calling people retarded is a line you don't cross, so regrettably, I had to bust out the banhammer for the first time in a year or so.

Well, this is not a blog. But if you enter this community with an attitude, among people who have been here for years, you're going to get called out on it. It's like real life in that respect.
N00b's are welcome provided they adhere to common sense interaction with other people, and not like know-it-all douchebags who've made three other posts.

So, Jeff, was there any rust on that Banhammer due to lack of use? I remember it was used quite frequently years ago.

Surprisingly enough, there aren't as many trolls as there used to be. I don't remember who the last person was that we bounced, but it was probably that goof with all of the GL conspiracies who kept coming back.
Self-moderation works best. If you could see all of the deleted posts (and we can... nothing is ever really deleted), people nuke their own all of the time.
