Cedar Point construction hits mainstream media

The footers that have appeared on Cedar Point's beach have now caught the attention of the mainstream media as well. WEWS in Cleveland posted a story on their site (NewsNet5) that includes photos from Guide to The Point.

How is getting an impulse a step backwards?(if it is an impulse). A ride doesnt have to be full-circuit or break every record to be a world class ride. I like the idea of CP possibly doing something they havent done before. Also, if its right on the beach, that in itself will make the coaster more fascinating.

And, if CP's is much bigger (another related article stated it may be between 400 and 600 ft), people would likely rather go to CP over SFWOA because of that.  Like Jeff said, some people never are satisfied...

That would be sweet to have a supersized impulse coaster!  I can't wait to take my first trip there next year!

It would be neat for CP to do something they have never done, like an impulse or b&m. Mantis is their newest looper and they need something new. Whatever this "mystery" is, when it is done, CP is going to kill six flags

I was at CP on friday night.  My girlfriend and i drove down there and didn't get there till 9 p.m., after a 3 hour drive.  But anyways i drug her over to look at what was going on.  the footers are huge when you are standing there looking at them.  there are 2 sets of re-rod coming out of the footers one set on either side of the footer.  Whatever they are building I will not complain. *** This post was edited by MFfan on 10/28/2001. ***

I think it is kinda dumb that we are arguing over what's better if we don't know what they are getting yet!!!  In all honesty we don't know what they are getting.  For all we know they might build it over the water too. (that would be cool)

No constuction?  Maybe that explains the causeway being torn up on the southbound lanes.  Must be a pretty big ride if it needs it's own dedicated line from First Edision(or whatever it is now)..... Pretty interesting....

The causeway was/is getting a new sewage system. That's why it was being torn up.

If an Impulse isn't good enough for you, by all means, stay home next year. That's the same kind of lame reaction that people gave when they did Camp Snoopy and Lighthouse Point. Newsflash: A well-rounded park with diverse attractions that are well suited to all types of people attract more people who spends lots of money and ultimately pay for the great rides.

It's a business, folks, not a contest.

It's funny how excited people get over a simple impulse when it is at CP compared to any other park.

Are you kidding? I'd hardly call the enthusiasm for the V2 rides subdued. Heck, there was more buzz than there was for SFO!
