Cedar Point Commercial: In SoCal?

I've seen a few commercials for Cedar Point here in Denver, CO. I was fast forwarding through the DVR and noticed TTD.
I live in South Florida. The last place I want to go on vacation is someplace just like here. There are tons of advertisements for the Smokies and points north. I don't think it is a stretch for a Californian with kids to travel to Sandusky for vacation.

There are lots of "summer camps" where kids travel the country and stop at one amusement park after another. Cedar Point is almost always on the list.

I saw a commercial in Baton Rouge, LA last weekend.

We get ads in the Cleveland area for Michigan, PA and Maryland of all places. Who wants to go to any of those places? ;)

Speaking of ads for PA places, Kennywood, Idlewild and Silver Springs Ski Resort seemed to have teamed up for an ad campaign here in the Cleveland area called the "KISS" program. You can get a package deal at Seven Springs with tickets to Kennywood and Idlewild starting at $250 or so. They have been showing the TV commercial more than the Geauga Lake ads here and I even got a mailer with my weekly coupons that has $10 savings on a Kennywood ticket (which also includes free admission to Sandcastle Water Park) and $7 off an Idlewild ticket. Not a bad deal!

I saw two cp commercials here in Omaha last night.
Sort of a bump and sort of related ...

Heard an interesting thing on SIRIUS *ahem* today, on the weather forecast for Pittsburgh, they had a little "vacation destinations" forecast for the holiday weekend and the two spots that they gave forecasts for were "Pocono Mtns, NY" and "Cedar Point, OH". The forecast for Detroit which is on the same channel right after Pittsburgh didn't give any desintations.

So, do you think Cedar Point paid for that "advertising", especially since they didn't refer to it as the forecast for Sandusky, but the forecast for Cedar Point specifically? If so, I think it's interesting how much of a concern Pittsburgh is becoming for Cedar Point, billboards, radio and TV ads have really picked up in recent years.

Just an observation. Discuss at your leisure ...

I saw a commercial for Cedar Point this morning on the local UPN affiliate, I believe. I've lived here for a year and a half and I still don't know which channel corresponds to which station. NBC will always be channel 4 to me.

If I get on any planes this year, they won't be going to Ohio -- Cedar Point or otherwise. Though, honestly, it'd be better than driving through the state to Idaho.

The entire CP area has a lot to offer for a fairly low price. Cedar Point may be Ohio's 2nd most visited location, but it is without second thought not the best. The islands have a lot to offer. In fact ive seen put-in-bay mentioned a few times as the mardi gras of the north, minus the dirt and high prices. Even a short 1 hour trip to Cleveland offers you a top 10 zoo, the countries best ranked orchestra, the worlds 6th ranked art museum as well as many other attractions. But for some reasons I don’t see people who go to put-in-bay taking a trip to see the orchestra...
Its interesting that they play CP commercials in California, but play no SFMM commercials here in Las Vegas. They used to a long time ago, but not anymore.

You'd think they'd play them here considering we are a major metropolitan area within a 4 hour drive.

Man I miss those So Big. So Fast. So Close to Home commercials!

...and such

I saw a CP commercial yesterday in NJ on TNT

^Hopefully it called Dragster "the tallest and fastest coaster on the PLANET" just to annoy the SFGAdv fanboys. ;)
Sorry we have thicker skins than that it's usually the CP wieners that run for their mommas at the slightest dispersion cast on the CP name. But I saw the CP commercial over the weekend. Pointed at the TV and my son said can we go there. Same after riding the ride sim that is out with the blue streak and Gemini on it. He rode it at chuckie cheese for had to be 20 times.

..."so many coasters,so little sick time"....
