Cedar Point announces Lighthouse Point expansion with 52 new cabins

Posted | Contributed by Jeff

Coming in late-May 2014, 52 new deluxe cabins make their debut at Cedar Point's Lighthouse Point. Each cabin can accommodate up to 10 guests and feature two full bathrooms, four flat screen TV's, a dorm-sized refrigerator, microwave, coffeemaker, outdoor charcoal grill and picnic table. Guests of Lighthouse Point will also enjoy FREE Wi-Fi throughout, including the cabins, cottages and RV campsites. A new registration building and store will make the check-in process even more speedy.

The cabins at HW (well, the campground) are like that, with a full floor and a half attic-dormer-room situation upstairs. For the young reindeer...

Like my doppelganger mentioned over at Pointbuzz, this is a most impressive development, and I'm mentally planning our first on-site visit in years because of this addition.

I just wish there was at least one more TV.

Great, great move by the Point, especially in lieu of all the on-site property enhancements that are ongoing.

For the record, I've stayed with 10 plus people in cabins that were huge with a tv in each bedroom, barroom in each bedroom. Huge living room, kitchen, game room. Multilevel wrap around porches with two or more hot tubs. Plus a wet and dry sauna. It was about 100 bucks a person for the weekend.

A barroom in each bedroom? Hey, we're about to do a complete remodel of our upstairs and that gives me an idea!

Or, wait a minute... Was Mr. Travolta at it again?...

No that was my ghetto speak for bathroom.

Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.

Oh, sorry. Here in my neck of the woods it's bat'room.

And if I may say, your typing is really starting to show some improvement! Good job!

So if they're building 52 cabins....should we presume full decks? ;~P

Big enough to sleep ten people I suppose.

Or 15 Timber-Riders. :)

Is it weird to own 4 (or more) TV's?

Because if it is, I'm WAY out of touch.

I hope not considering we have 6 TVs and only 3 people.

It's probably weird that I only have one TV.

I thought status quo was to have one gigantic TV and one tablet and smart phone per person.

We have 5, but we're doing a little updating and making an extra room into a guest room type of deal and I'll stick a smaller one in there. After that, I'mma re-do the office and I've always wanted a TV in here too.

So that'd put us at 7 ideally.

Hell, it's not like a TV is a luxury purchase like it used to be. Decent TV's are stupid-cheap here in the future.

My issue is more that I just don't watch very much. I have 70 hours of stuff on my DVR I may never see. It's worse since moving to Florida, because I'm outside constantly.

Florida blah Florida blah de blah blah blah Florida blah.
Only jealous, mind you.

We only have 2, and they're both low-def. I'm such a TV hipster.

Hi

I had three and I live alone. But I only used one so I gave the one in my bedroom to my brother and have one in the guest bedroom that's not even hooked up (I have Antenna and no cable/sat as I have a roku, chromecast, and the internet).

I have 3 too, one in my living room (and the only one with a box,) one in my bedroom, and a small one in my kitchen (for when Im watching a sporting event and need to cook at the same time.)

Yeah, I work in the telecom industry. Hooked up two tv's for this guy in his bathroom. One in the main bathroom area, the other in the crapper closet or whatever you call the little room with the toilet. Guess he couldn't pull himself away long enough to use the bathroom.

Anyway it seems that having a tv in every room possible is a need these days.

Is it weird that I have been cable/satellite-free for twelve years?

If it wasnt for wanting to watch football games (ie turning to ESPN) I would have done it long ago and just payed for Hulu + and neflix.

Kitchen, front room (Ohiya term), master, guest. We're about to remodel, going from 3 br, 1 1/2 bath to 2 br, 2 1/2 bath and we were just tonight discussing the additional tv possibilities.
The crapper closest, btw, is called the water closet. (I DVR House Hunters, first run only)
