Cedar Point

How do you think Cedar Point will retake the most coaster record from SFMM?

Detroit Baby!
If they want to they might, um . . . put in more coasters!! ;)

Have I heard a post about SFMM & Cedar Point before??
Well said SFGA_FAN, very well said.

They will go to MM and steal Goliath Jr. as well as much of the X track so CP will still have the record this year as they still have not lost it. If all fails, Windjammer will move to CP SBNO and CP will claim World's Most Coasters and call S:TE a freefall ride.

(Come on, seriously! What kind of answer do you want! :()

PKI-Kings Mills, Ohio-Wooden and Kiddie Coaster Capital of the World!
Like someone said at GTTP (or maybe it was here), Add a ride and name it "K", a "Ive been on one of those before", and "MF Junior".
I'm guessing their next coaster will be a shuttle type coaster (or two)...

Will be at Busch Gardens Williamsburg April 27th.
Like someone once said, they are building new coasters right now that aren't yet announced.
My theory: They are going to fill all those outstanding "contracts" ;) with Arrow, Intamin and B&M by having them each build a coaster. The 3 new coasters will be connected into one giant one so they can have the world's longest coaster record, but still count them as 3.

Why are they doing this? Well, if they have the record of most coasters everyone from the west coast will fly to OH and go to CP instead of SFMM.
Since SFMM's buisness will be so grim, SFMM will have to sell most of their coasters to CP to stay in buisness.

;)

Sorry, I just felt like being creative!

No, all those plans are too expencive. They will simply buy SFMM, and move all the coasters and 2 flat rides to CP. Now, which is cheaper? :-P

V2, Deja Vu... how can it be better? Add Viper! Oh, wait. It's already there!
Come on why is every one responding to topics like smart asses? I think cedar point will put a woodie one the lagoon and a thrust air. There IS also a lot of rumors going around that cedar point is going to be installing a wild mouse coaster or something. But the thing is I think sfmm is going to Keep adding kiddie coasters to keep the record, a pretty ****y way of running business but what can you expect from a company that add 3 coasters which really amount to 1 to 1.5 coasters. Golieth junior come on you can't tell me they didn't due that just to take the record.

3 coasters is 3 coasters, period. You can't tell me people aren't going to line up for all three, so who cares? SFGAm is adding two shuttles, what record are they trying to break? CP added a kiddie coaster a couple of years ago, were they just doing it to add to their record? *** This post was edited by DWeaver on 4/5/2001. ***
oh so cedar point bought mf which costed a lot to keep the record. i dont think so. at the same time if sfmm was only about the record they wouldnt have gotten goliath. the record is just a bonus for dumping in a lot of money to a park. and by the way is it just me or is the mountain's theming improving a lot. rr has a awesome queue, goliath's is nice with a lot of trees added (even though it doesnt look as nice now since they are all so small) and goliath jr doesnt look too bad. i think they are in for a comeback.as long as they stick with quality over quantiy(i dont count rides for the kids just quanity because a park needs those too)

Whoa, I feel like I'm on GTTP.

Once and for all, there is no contest and people don't give two monkey craps that some park thousands of miles away has more coasters. The parks, while enjoying no-brainer marketing, do not need any records to continue being successful.

After the creative B.S. I made up, I wanted to put

"Those who know..." TM

but I left it for you Jeff!

(What Jeff, you mean people aren't going to fly from Oh to go to SFMM since they took the record! :) )

Well, if you havent figured it out yet, people are getting sick and tired of hearing the MM beating CP coaster record B.S.. If you personally have a problem with Six Flags taking CPs record then you have issues that need to be addressed. Live with it, deal with it, understand it, and all will be good(with a bag of chips).

This war between CP and SFMM must stop. Both company's will run each other out of money by purchasing and building coasters every year at their parks (SFMM and CP). Why can't CP just sit back and except they aren't the king anymore.

Are you listening? There is no war. Cedar Point doesn't care. Trust me, I know those people from the CEO down better than my own family. They don't care that a park that 99% of their visitors will never visit has more coasters. It's a non-issue.

I would speculate that Six Flags doesn't care either. I would say that they care about the actions of Knott's and DCA, but Cedar Point? Not a chance.

Well...what are you talking about? As of this second, CP still has the record. When SFMM completes X, DV, and GJr, SFMM will have it. If CP builds 5 kiddie coasters in response, your point will be validated. The fact is, CP hasn't done ANYTHING yet, because they still haven't even lost the record yet. When they do, I think they'll do the EXACT SAME THING they were going to do had SFMM not built 3 this year. I honestly don't think CP really cares that much. Sure, they might try to get it back, but they're not going to stretch their finances too thin, or just build crap to get the record back.

BTW...it's 'accept' not 'except' in that situation.
Darnit Jeff..your reply must have posted the second I clicked the "reply" button.

Doh!

o god... here we go again

how many times have we had this conversation. No matter what the subject is, if it onvolves MM and CP it always turns in to a war...lol

The two are a zillion miles away. The gp in Cali has probobly never heard of CP, same for the people in the midwest. Plus nobody is gonna travel across the country (except for us) to go to another amusement park when they have one right in there back yard.

I guess im pretty much saying THEY ARE NOT IN COMPETITION!

All your base are belong to us! *** This post was edited by joey isch on 4/6/2001. ***
Wow Jeff, I'm really surprised you didn't close this thread. You must be in a good mood this week. ;) What you guys have said is very true, this CP-SFMM thing is has become some sort of weird, disfunctional enthusiasts game, it has NOTHING whatsoever to do with the parks themselves. Do people actually thinks parks just sit back and plot ways to one up each other with all the other things they have to worry about? I'm sure CP got a kick out of this whole thing. But then guess what? They got over it, and moved on to business as usual. Same with SFMM. WE are the ones with nothing better to do than bore each other silly with this topic. Remember that the next time your fingers reach for the CP/SFMM keys the next time. ;)
