Cedar Point 2004- What to expect?

What can we expect for next season at Cedar Point? There is not a very good chance of a coaster, since we just got 2 in a row. What I really want to see is a new flat ride! Flats are beginning to be the next roller coasters! Also, I'm hoping sometime within the next 2 to 3 years we good a rockin' woodie! What do you think?

Wood would be good, but whatever it is keep your eye on the back corner of the park behind Thunder Canyon, White Water Landing, & to the left of Mean Streak...justa hunch.

Expansion of Lighthouse Point. No coaster, they can still market TTD because it will still be the tallest and fastest ride of the planet. Maybe a flat....who really knows.

Does this mean the overbanked turns have arrived?

Edit: I was just kidding, sorry to those that took this seriously.

TTD is not going to change, it would be unreasonable to spend that amount of money to simply "improve" a coaster rather than just built a new one.

And yes, Mean Streak will have a friend pretty soon :)

Mean Streak and Blue Streak aren't on good terms?

Maybe after going huge all these years they will continue the trend with the tallest fastest and maybe longest floorless with 8-9 inversions.

no overbanks for Dragster. Have you ever been on Xcelerator? The overbanks do nothing for the ride. They were only built to make it look like more of a ride. All they were doing on Xcel was testing the lauch & brake technology. Dragster will be fine. Even though I dont ride them, it would be nice to see CP get a flat or two..some of bigger ones seem to be taking amusement parks by storm these days.

What is more sad? The fact that a topic like this shows up in May or the fact that some people are actually taking the overbanked comment seriously?

Um, lets see. 2000-MF, 2001-Lighthouse Point, 2002-WT, 2003-TTD. I think that CP has earned well deserved year off, repaint Maggie, add some additions to their hotels. Also start planning either a (good) woodie that goes around the perimeter of the park or a BM sitdown launched/floorless with the record for the most inversions in 2005!

CP has more flats then any other coperate (minus Disney) I know while some new flats would be welcome they aren't "desperatly needed"

Yes, and unfortunately it hasn't gotten any better with age.

There will be no new coaster, unfortunately, but what park goes with a coaster after spending 34 million on 2 coasters for the previous two years? If we see anything, maybe a new flat or two, but there will be expansion of LP. Really the only thing that is related to coasters next year will be marketing of TTD.

If the people at CP were anywhere near being smart, they'd look 4 hrs south to Cincy where a simple ride called Delirium is getting a lot of attention... and bringing in the people. A giant world record breaking roller coaster isn't whats always best for a park.
