Cedar Fair spending $83 million next year

4 million in restaurant renovations? What kind of restaurant are they building?

^ restaurant renovations and general park improvements :)
They are redoing the two TGI Fridays restaurants. I'm sure that stuff isn't cheap.

Does CF really only own six hotels? I would have guessed the number was higher than that. *** Edited 12/22/2006 4:24:11 PM UTC by Jeff Young***

Vincent Greene....I didn't promise you guys Steel Venom until '08. Santa couldn't fit it in his sleigh this year, X-Flight took up ALL the trunk space...

Oh, and Moosh, well-played... ;)

A pre-fab inverted Intamin.

Hi

Okay... number one. Stop talking about Geauga lake as if it was closing. They are not sending all our rides to other parks.

And number two.

They are not giving away coasters for free... Pki would pay GL&WWK for x-flight.

Why would they pay a park in the same chain as them?

Hi.....whats your name again?

Nope, just the ones that are "in the way" of expansion plans and would do the chain more good by being relocated...that means SV and HS are next (and probably alone) on the chopping block.

For the record, I'm *almost always* GUESSING....my track record is nowhere NEAR perfect, and probably not even "good". I've probably irritated more people than I've entertained over the years, but it's ALL in good fun, and I don't take ANY of it too seriously..."you all" shouldn't either... :)

You still have Zoidberg.... You ALL have Zoidberg! (V) (;,,;) (V)

Because they are still their own companies that operate within their own budgets.

Yes, technically it's just number moving, but I'd expect that there would be a transfer of funds from the PKI account to the GL account for the current value of the ride.

If they just start shipping stuff around, it'd be an accounting nightmare.

Think of them as separate companies that just happen to have the same owners. They still have to operate independently from each other.

Hi

said well kpjb :)

now i wonder with that money if they will spend it on something worth wild, and I wonder whos getting the ice show...

So basically its just shifting assets?

So I guess this means that Michigans adventure is not going to get anything too big next year.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Could anyone confirm this?

I do not know exactly how the CF Company is setup. I would not think this would be the case. I assume that each park is not its own individual company as he said. I believe they are one Big Company, who owns many parks.

Please tell me we're not really considering the idea that there aren't individual books kept for each park in the CF chain.

...please?

Well so far we know:

Cedar Point - Maverick/Other Improvements.
Paramount's King's Dominion - Water park expansion/Other Improvements.
Paramount's King's Island - SOB, X-Flight/Other Improvements.
Knott's Berry Farm - New Coaster, Spinning(Can't remeber the name)/Other Improvements.
Valleyfair! - Renegade/Other Improvements.

Now the question is: What's going on at the other parks? Does anyone here know anything more about these parks other then general improvements preferably ride installations?

- Geauga Lake
- Michigan's Adventure
- Paramount's Carowinds

- Paramount's Great America
- Paramount Canada's Wonderland
- Dorney Park
- Bonafate Gardens
- Worlds Of Fun
- Any of the Knott's Waterparks
- Star Trek
(Probably NOTHING going there other then some new paint, 100's of garbage cans, some other crucial off season maintenance and ride refurbs. The same probably goes with the rest of the parks listed above but I just decided to post them incase someone knows more;).)

Geauga Lake is apparently being improved by removing lots and lots of attractions.
Dorney Park is getting a Mat Racer for Wildwater Kingdom. It was approved at the November meeting of the South Whitehall Township Planning Commission.

Hobbes: "What's the point of attaching a number to everything you do?"
Calvin: "If your numbers go up, it means you're having more fun."

What makes anyone so sure that PKI/KI is getting X-Flight in 07? They're probably not getting it for 07 but might in 08 & right now it's just speculation as to which park is getting it.
