Wouldn't it be nice if some park had the guts (courtesy? money?) to offer BOTH Coke and Pepsi, as well as Sprite, Mountain Dew, etc.? Or maybe a park could strike a deal with a local soda company. I'd love to see Ale-8-One served at SFKK or Ski pop at PKI.
Imagine if a park served "Jolt." Is that stuff still around? I used to drink it in college. It tasted like crap but it kept you wired for hours. The crash wasn't too pretty though. :-)

Jolt's still around. They have different flavors though. Too bad it still has like half the caffeine of a cup of coffee.
btw, SFKK + Jolt = mayhem

What about "Like" cola? Anyone remember Like from the 80's? I grew up on that stuff (it was cheaper than Coke or Pepsi back then).
Dr. Slice? Matt, I've never seen that before...ever, and we live in the same area! When did Pepsi ever test-market that product?
BTW, regular Slice is now Sierra Mist, but orange Slice is still named the same.

DWeaver, Root Beer is the greatest.
I wonder if any parks will ever try to sell a drink called "Beverly"? It's from Italy and can be tasted at the Coke Museum in Atlanta, and has an "interesting" taste. You can even see it in some of Robb's videos. ;)
SFOG, as well as everything else in Atlanta, has always had Coke. Atlanta also has the world's only Pizza Hut (a Pepsi Co.) that serves Coke.

Why would one go to the *pop section* to find soda anyway.... I figured that's where you go to find bad music....

At Epcot they also have a world flavors of Coke, sample room in the west hall. There was some strange flavors to say the least, some quite good. But Beverly came out the same place it went in, Thank God for the nearby trashcan. Tasted like cooking wine gone way wrong.

Franchise units (like PH or Burger King for example) are not bound to the drink that the parrent company is attached to. It behooves the unit to go with the approved company because of bulk discount for the brand (ie McDonalds owners like to go with Coke because of the deal the parrent company gives then a mass discount). I know of cases where the store dumped one company for another (all cases i know of involve Pepsi being canned) usually because of service or the distributor for the area stunk. Furthermore the parrent company will often pressure the outcast unit through limiting the menu they can run or other means. But in the end it is completely up to the Franchise to decide. They can even run both drinks.
Pepsi is crap compared to Coke, I have taken the Pepsi challenge 5 times, chose coke everytime but I will never drink fountain cola anyway. It tastes like crap.
At restauarants my drink of choice is Sprite or Mt. Dew depending on which they have. Outside of restaurants I split things between Coke, Mt. Dew, Sprite, and Vernors.
If you haven't had Vernors you haven't had ginger ale. I am sadistic watching people try Vernors for the first time. They coucgh and hack to death HAHA
Did you know that in the mid 20's Coca Cola had the opputunity to buy Pepsi for next to nothing. Only a couple thousand Bucks.

Pepsi sells more in the stores while Coke which is pretty much at every restaurant sells more through the syrup.
Not true. Coming from my 13 years of experience, I can tell you that whichever brand is cheaper is the one that sells more for that week. Last week we ran Pepsi cubes at $3.78 and sold almost three trailer loads, while we hardly sold any Coke at $3.59 for a 12 pack. The results are reversed whenever we run Coke at $1.88 per 12 pack and Pepsi at $6.99 per cube. Further proof that it all comes down to the money.
Here's two more failed experiments from Pepsi: Storm and Kona Pepsi. Storm was the one between Slice and Sierra Mist and it lasted for about 6 months and Kona was just crap.
I agree that I would like to see the return of Crystal Pespi, but only if it is the original cola formula and not the citrus flavored one that eventually killed it.
