CCI: The best!

After experiencing Herbert Schmeck's "Phoenix" at Knoebels, I am also convinced he was the greatest designer. These coasters were built before computers and all the modern engineering conveniences the CCI guys have to work with, and look how great his rides are: The Hersheypark Comet, The Great Escape Comet, Dorney's Thunderhawk, etc...
Too bad most CCI's go to the smaller parks. There are very few large parks with two cci's, but parks like Visionland, Big Chief's, and Holiday World have two.

I have ridden many CCI's but I would have to say the my personal 1,2,3 would be Ghostrider, Tremors, and Timber Terror (in that order). I have yet to ride Shivering Timbers, and I won't get to Mexico to ride their coaster at Six Flags, but I would guess that they would be amazing. CCI
does something no other designer does...They provide rides that don't do the next obvious thing, and they do it so well. The only thing that I can say about CCI and predictability is most of their turnarounds have that "horseshoe dip" to them. Personally, that is not a bad thing, but a pleasure. However, it is a dead CCI giveaway. Rock on CCI...Now get your tail in gear, and put up some coasters in Japan! When I travel, I want to bring some CCI goodness with me.

;)Rollercoasters are like parrots...if you take care of them, they should outlive you;)
I agree, Adam! CCI rocks! :)

I've also only ridden one CCI creation - The Villain. But, it sure is awesome and I bet all of their other woodies are just as good.

Two other cci creations that are *excellent rides* that you for got to mention would be the silver comet and hurricane: category five. Any one else been on these?

Maybe that is so that they don't remain as smaller parks?

I hadn't heard much about Twister at Knoebels before I saw it on America's Greatest Coaster Thrills: The Next Generation, and I must say I'm very impressed. This thing looked intense and had speed that wouldn't quit.

I have several CCI's all around me, however I haven't made it to any of these parks. :( So I haven't felt the awesome intensity of CCI yet. I can't make it to them for another year or two, but I plan on riding several CCI's when I get old enough.

I have Villian a long ways away, Hoosier Hurricane and Corball Express a few hours away, Shivering Timbers is hopefully on the menu for next year, and finally The Raven and The Legend which are probably going to have to wait for a few more years because of the distance.

I rode Silver Comet last week and I really enjoyed the ride, despite the steel frame. It was really starting to run well as the night moved in - watch out for those turnarounds. Unfortunately, they closed the park at 8:30pm so I was deprived of real night rides but what I had was good enough to make it my #10 woodie.
