CCI Engineers form new Coaster Company

I know this belongs in News (sorry Jeff), but I just couldn't wait! This is great news! Read on...PRESS RELEASE

August 15, 2002 - The amusement industry has a new source for roller coaster design and engineering services. The Gravity Group, LLC is an engineering firm specializing in wooden ride development and design. The group is
comprised of all four engineers formerly of Custom Coasters International, Inc.

The group has its roots deep in the design and engineering involved in the creation of wooden roller coasters. Over the past two decades, members of the team have been involved with the engineering of over 40 wooden roller
coasters. Members of The Gravity Group, LLC were responsible for many of the wooden coaster designs or that have been regarded as "top ten" rides, such as The Raven and Legend at Holiday World (Santa Claus, IN), Shivering
Timbers at Michigan's Adventure (Muskegon, MI), and CornBall Express at Indiana Beach (Monticello, IN). The diverse experience of the engineers behind The Gravity Group, LLC has allowed roller coasters to be built in
several non-traditional locations: swamps, mountainsides, and even overtop existing attractions.

The Gravity Group, LLC is made up of Lawrence Bill, Michael Graham, Korey Kiepert, and Chad Miller. The group has a strong background in civil, structural, and mechanical engineering, allowing the group to handle
foundation, structural, and dynamic design for a wide variety of roller coaster projects. The Gravity Group, LLC looks forward to bringing many more of its creative, crowd-pleasing designs to an amusement park near you.

Thank you Paula for this incredible news! I am so glad that these talented individuals have stuck together and will continue to provide world class thrills following the legacy they created with CCI. Also glad to see these guys rise above the challenges created from the CCI breakup.

YAY! I just got that in an email. It is great news because.....you can't beat their coasters! One question, who will be the president or will there not be one?

Gas to get to PKI, $5.60. ACE card for walkback, $50.00. Meeting up with Beastnum1 and drinking 20 lemonjuice packets, priceless

Hurray...................Can't wait till one of their wooden creations comes to life!

“If you give a enthusiast a footer.......He’ll want a coaster!!!"

This is great! I just hope it survives. So are they going to be essentially the same as CCI was? I hope so, a small company like that with "cheaper" coaster prices is what a lot of smaller parks really need.
Great news!...I wonder how much more expensive the rides will be or if they will be as cheap because there are just 4 of them...

Wow... that was fast. Now start bringing some of your expertise to the east!

Patiently awaiting a CCI on the east coast

Waldameer's Ravine Flyer 2 will be designed and built as a Gravity Works, LLC coaster:

Read the article here. Gravity Works would be the undisclosed company that is mentioned in the story.

Thank You for challenging TOS: The Ride. We hope you enjoy the rest of your day, here at SFCB.

Its just like CCI except under a different title and without Denise. Anyways, I was kind of hoping these engineers would come and work for Denise in the S&S division, but I guess not. Oh well, I am happy that the engineers still have their jobs and formed their own company.

The nice thing about the familar team getting back together, is that parks know and trust these guys, and wont hesitate a second in choosing a company to build their new wood ride. Whoo-Hoo!
Cool.
Yeah, but Mr. Peck. Denise is now working for S&S with a few of her people too. So it's like a "let's see which one should we pick?"

I hate Dippin' Dots

Yeah, but comparing the 2 companies, parks may steer away from Denise because of the reputation she got as the head of CCI. They may want to go with strictly the solution and not to part of the problem.

So what's going to be the acronym for The Gravity Group-- TGG?

Gavity sounds like a good acronym to me.

Just like CCI never left.

Hmmm could HW be dealing with these guys Paula? ;)

All I need is 4.5 million bucks and a half a mile long sliver of land and maybe someone could build me my very own Shivering Timbers. ;)
