CB Games turning into AOLer site?

I am just curious to see if anyone else feels like I do. I was just on this page, and hardly was able to finish reading it. I have also seen this on many other pages throughout the site. It's almost as if it's a "playground" for brain-dead AOLers. ;) Just thought I'd bring that to your attention, as if you haven't already noticed...

I'm a loser.

I tend to agree with you MarimbaGuy87 that everyone at CB games could make some effort to write full and complete thoughts. It makes it a headache to read bad grammar and punctuation. That's just my opinion.

I denfitely agree. You just can't read something that they write. Needs to be something that requires you to use good grammer and full complete sentences. Now I sound like my Language Arts teacher LOL. :)

I agree, but here's the problem: The site largely goes unmoderated, and I know that Gonchar and I certainly don't have the time to spend there. I'll post a warning message.

What time does the water show start?

Jeff, be sure you post the warning in their language. You wouldn't want to confuse them. Here's a translator to help you out.

Help!! I'm addicted to Friendster.com and it's taking away from my pathetic online roller coaster message board time!!!

That translator is too funny. Thanks for the laugh.

I get the joke. It's one of the better parodies I've heard in my life.

In addition to not having the time to sort through every thread every day - that kind of thing has just started running rampant in the past few weeks as more and more kiddies find the site.

If I stumble across anything exceptional, I'll make it disappear, but with the levels that I'm seeing it at, it'd be a constant and fruitless task to try and kill it all manually.

Kind of a "mob rules" sort of thing. If it's just me & Jeff trying to sort through a bunch of members net speak when we have a few moments, it's going to get through with that much of it getting on.

I've become a bit more laid back. I still kill the ridiculous stuff, but I'm almost becoming numb to the AOL mentality.

I try :)

I'm going to start poking my head in over there as well. Heck, I play RCT occasionally, maybe I'll be inspired by some designs or something as a side benefit ;)

Its exactly why I havent posted anything out there in a while. The games site has truly gone to the dogs. I have a lot of good stuff to post but I don't feel like sharing it with the kind of people that are out there posting right now.

With school starting again, it's slowed down quite a bit. Maybe we'll see you back soon, Bob?

Well there has been a Belmont Park Giant Dipper inspired woodie that I have been dying to release but figured I would hold off on it... I have been on another of my historical bents lately.

I could use some good wood. Being as you're the only one who delivers it consistently, I'd love the chance to get a few :)

I would love to see KTS and Gonch posting some proper rides on the boards again.

I love watching them move, and I love learning from how they are laid out.

I have long since stopped posting to CB Games (although I only posted a handful of stuff) for that reason. It's ridiculous the kinds of things that people seem to value or disvalue on Buzz Games. Nobody seems to care about creativity, originality, aesthetics, etc.

Is there no one else that could moderate? I like the setup of the site, I like the more mature posters, some great stuff comes off there, esp. to inspire me. Are there no other RCT fanatics in the mod group?:)

I'm in the middle of a move. I still check in as much as possible and get rid of the stuff that needs to disappear. As soon as I find a place and get settled in, I be able to get on it a lot better.

The nature of the site keeps it difficult to mod. Files don't move to the top when new posts are made. It can be a daunting task to keep up with all the crap - especially since the site has attracted so many of the people who seem to spout crap. While I do enjoy taking some time and helping out, it'd be a full time job to scour all the files all the time. On top of that I mostly frequent the RCT tracks section so more stuff probably slips through in the saved games and scenario and no limits areas.

I know Jeff was considering another mod, it might be a good idea. 2 sets of eyes could catch twice as much.
