CB Games (and the future of)

I know no one here wants to hear this anymore, but the CB Games section of this site almost seems pointless now. I know some others might disagree, because they believe that 1 upload every 3 days is just splended and that's how it should be(in their eyes) but soon enough the 2-3 people that actually upload are going to get bored with uploading when no one can comment and eventually there will be no one else. I'm not trying to start a rant or complaint about how "I'm leaveing" or how this has ruined my life like some others posts I've read but it's getting pretty bad now. Granted I don't have all the time in the world for RCT2, seeing 1 download every 3 days sometimes 2 if you're lucky makes me wonder how long this will continue before no one uploads at all. Just something to think about I suppose.

What sparked this, is noticing that there were only 3 uploads in the top 10 and most uploads usually get no more than like 3-4 votes.

Yawn.

If it dies it dies. If you want me to care, it's not going to happen. I personally don't get anything out of the site, and I never did. It was just an experiment for an entirely different project. However I won't let it exist just to be overrun by little punks who post in chat shorthand and flame each other to death. Not on my dime.

What time does the water show start?

I totally agree, and this isn't a rant in hopes that you will change your mind but I tend to check the games forum out from time to time and it was just what I noticed. I'm not too concerned either way and do what you need to do. The rest of the site is still nice and informative and well I was bored saw a few things and felt like pointing them out. Either way I'm done with it.

Don't worry, I 'll be uploading in a few days. Hopefully that will give you warm fuzzy feelings ;)

Lyrically, I'm supposed to represent
I'm not only a client, I'm the playa president!

I just uploaded a park, and I would wait for months if the odd download was the quality of Andy's latest park.

So why did you even bother bringing it up again?

Obviously thought you hadn't noticed.....wasn't that nice of him to let you know.....
I was concerned but not greatly. Just curious none the less. because I noticed the site was going downhill and mainly wanted to see what everyone else thinks. However even if the regular uploaders did agree they would never say it.

Jeff, wondering if you could change the top ten amount of votes to just 1 vote needed as there are only two in the top ten at the moment, at least this'd give some of the other recently uploaded files some advertising.

Just an idea.

I've joined a couple other site since the change to try to get more feedback on my rides, but CB is still my favorite. There aren't many uploads, but the average quality has risen greatly I think, and I probably download as many rides per week as I did before the change.

I do wish however, that some of those who have signed up would participate more, like Omar who used to be ubiquitous on CB but now hardly ever drops a comment.

Also, while things have slowed greatly on the "upload" end, there are still tons of people who come to the site to download. I am in no way bragging about my park, but the fact that it got 150 downloads in a few days is a testament to how many people come to the site to check out the rides. I'm getting more downloads now than I ever did before, so I disagree that the site is dying. It's just becoming something different from what it used to be.

There are some sites where only a few "experts" that have ties to the site webmaster (or whatever) upload. This is becoming sort of like that, except any chump with $20 can become an "expert" and get some instant exposure instead of being lost in the crowd.

In addition, you can look at a site like coasters2k where anyone can rate or comment, and the most popular files have only like 16 votes but hundreds of downloads. The average file gets about 2 or 3 votes before disappearing into oblivion. There is less feedback there than here, even with a special forum for advertising rides.

I admit that I was a little apprehensive about the change for the first week or so, but now I feel that my $20 was well spent.
