Do you think this site is free for Jeff?  Sorry, but its his site, he pays the bills, he can do what he wants with it.  If that means that people have to pay to enjoy some of the features, then so be it.  He has said that he might reopen the meeting calander to all users because of there only being about 130 members in the club.  If you want a way to keep a track record, start a spread sheet or keep a journal.

Old issue...

How many used the calendar anyway when it was free? And as for the track record, like "bigboy" said, a spread sheet does wonders.  I have quite a detailed one set up in Excel that suits my own needs very well.  Unless you want to use the track record for "bragging rights" (you know... "I've ridden 300 coasters, so I am more of an expert than you because you have only ridden 294..."), try a spreadsheet or journal.

(by the way... a "non member" here).

I'm just fine with what the site has to offer now. Even though the track record and calender (Which i never use) Were both useful things, We can still post links, topics, news and most of the primary stuff. Just be happy the way it is...

"Roar" You'll never hear the end of it!

Actually, if you look in this topic, Jeff mentions that he's CONSIDERING bringing back the Meeting Calendar to the public section.  That's not a given yet, but it's being thought about.

The calendar may return as free. Over 800 posts were made to it, more than I thought, and it isn't much good to anyone if only a couple hundred have access to it.

As for the track record, that stays for club members. It's mind boggling that anyone would ever think they have a "right" to something they don't own or didn't pay for.

This is funny, I am not a member of Coasterbuzz club, but I am about to. (just printed off the application). I mean its not like Jeff is asking for your first born child. Twenty dollars is rather cheap in my book for a service as great as this. How much money do you spend each year in parks? How many times do you come here? For me I spend alot more time here discussing my "obession", because that is what it is to me. Rollercoasters are my hobby. If it deals with rollercoasters then I am looking into, or trying to ride it. I keep a detailed record of what coaster I have ridden in my head and on my computer. What is the big deal? Sure I like to view other people's track record and I might contact that person to see how the ride was, but this is the internet, freedom? hmmmm that is a grand concept. Bandwith cost money, plus joining the club has great benefits. I am going to hope to make my way to Ohio for the event, but I highly doubt it. To come onto a site and be negative about something you control is utter lunacy.
