Casino Pier adding new ride called Super Storm, some people not amused

Posted | Contributed by Jeff

As crews tore down a landmark roller coaster damaged by superstorm Sandy, officials announced a new thrill ride for Casino Pier with a potentially provocative name: Super Storm. The new ride is slated to be ready for beachgoers this summer, officials said, less than a year after the shoreline was severely damaged by the Oct. 29 storm.

For reference, though, I suppose if I had to pick my top five most desired airlines that I've not yet flown, in no particular order, it'd be Swiss, KLM, Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific, and Virgin Australia.

Yep, I have to say those are on my to do list as well. I heard Qantas is amazing also. Makes some of the american airlines look like Air Somalia (so offense to our somalian friends)

I flew on Qantas on an around-the-world trip back in February. Their A380 is one slick ride. I'm tall, but I was plenty comfortable in an economy seat. The self-service snack and drink bar (alcohol wasn't self-service, before anyone gets too excited) was pretty awesome. I also flew on one of their 747-400s that didn't get the cabin refit, and that sucker was showing its age. The crews were amazing, though, so it was all good, and besides, I had Lufthansa to look forward to afterward.

Forgot to mention, I stopped by Seaside Saturday after leaving GAdv in the afternoon. The boardwalk looks great, many businesses were open (mmmm..Kohrs orangeade!) and people were spending money and having a good time. No beach access, though. One of the dark rides is the only thing standing on Casino Pier. Funtown Pier has a kids' Frog Hopper and a small Frisbee-pendulum ride, Typhoon, and assorted pieces of other rides. Oh, and most of a dinosaur.

Kohr's? PB and Chocolate swirl, please...

I'd never go to the Seaside boards and forego a Kohrs orangeade. But the first stand I went to didn't have it, and the next was closed. Fortunately, third time was the charm. And I didn't have to volley to get it :)
