Can you ride all the the coasters at SFMM in 1 day

I'll be there from opening until the very last second if I have to so I should be fine. Also my dad said we;re going sometime in June not July and it will probably be the end of June or mid June. Does that make a difference?

I am 100% sure you can ride all the coaster at SFMM in one day. I did when I went to Cedar Point on October 12 and 13 for Halloweekends and the park was croweded. I rode MF, Mantis, Iron Dragon, Corkscrew, Mean Streak, Magnum XL:200 and Gemini in under 6 hours. The park closed at 12:00 P.M. on 10/12/02. Then I rode Raptor, Wicked Twister, Blue Streak, DT, and Wild cat the other 6 hours. The next day I just went on anything I could before the park closed at 8:00 P.M.

WOW!!!!!!!! You can say with absolute certainty that you can ride all the coasters at MM because you spent a day at Cedar Point!!!!!!! That's incredible!!!!! Last time I checked, they were over 2,000 miles apart, had different coasters, different crowds, different ride-ops, different operating schedules, different climates, different owners, different management, and different queue lengths! Not one thing about those parks is similar, which makes your post sound even more ridiculous! Wow. I simply am amazed that you can make such a statement about a park we have no idea if you have ever been to!!!

newbie.

Sorry I was going 3 days to MM 2 to KBF and 1 to Vegas. Anyone know what the crowds might be like.

Who wants to go to the same park six days in a row? Certainly not me. And he corrected himself with a much better plan. :)

I mean, you would actually go to SFMM six days in row, when you have Disney, DCA, KBF, Belmont, and all those other little parks right next to you?

You are going to have a hard enough time enjoying yourself for 1 day let alone 3 days (or God forbid 6). SFMM is interesting, and has a lot to offer, but surprisingly, it doesn't take that long to see everything.....and simply put, the rides aren't THAT spectacular.

I totally agree nasai. I got bored at MM on my day and a half visit. Try going to DCA or DL, to add a little more variety.

84 coasters and counting

Anyone going to SFMM after December, remember one thing, Fastlane's run ends January 1, 2003.

They will be converting over to Q-bot...

As for spending more than one day at SFMM, that is simply a subjective thing. I had a GREAT two and a half days there a few months ago.

I want to make sure of one thing... I am not a CP fanboy. I just don't think SFMM offers that much diversity. That, and the rides, for the most part, aren't really that special. By special, I mean something truly unique. Granted, X is such a ride, but you really can't argue much more about it. Everything else is, for the most part, boring. My opinions, but I'm sticking to 'em!:)

I would highly suggest KBF for a "full day." A great park, with great rides, and cleanliness abounds. Besides, Ghostrider is the bomb.;)

I would also suggest Legoland, which is the best park in SoCal. But we could sit here and suggest whatever we want. Most people have to take time, money and tranportation into account. Also, SFMM is only open weekends till spring break anyway...

Uh, scratch that. I meant Christmas break.

Be forewarned, check times, dates a ride closures. All SoCal parks will have rides down for maintanance this time of year.

TOGO!

I just went on Saturday Oct. 19. I didn't ride te kiddie's and Reveloutionm but if I wanted to I could have very easily, here's the run down.

Goldrusher 1
S:TE 2
Colossus Backwards: 1
Pysclone:3
Deja VU:1
X:1
B:TR:1
Riddler's Revenge:1
Goliath:1
Viper: 2

In addition I rode Log Jammer, wondered around a bit trying to figure out what to do, and spent abotu 30 minutes in X's queue when it broke. All you have to do is get there before it opens, and plan wisely, thats when I did the bulk of my riding.

To Du8die: If you go to a park, and they have light crowds and the line waits are less than 2 hours. U can ride all the parks coasters in one day. That's how it was a Cedar Point. How gives a flying **** if the park's are in different locations. Cedar Point and Magic Mountain attract about the same amount of crowds every year. Don't forget that MM is open all year. They have times when you can ride all the coasters in one day.
du8die: If u would like to see the ticket subs from Cedar Point, I'll be glad to show you, If their's a problem about you thinking I'm lieing.

Thanks Lewis! You are too (now)!!!

The fact that X is open again will certainly change the dynamics of the park, especially if it is open during the off season. There is almost no other reason to go to SFMM;) Seriously, don't get me wrong. I like SFMM a lot, but I do enjoy ragging on it a bit. It's just that there could be so much more to the park. What I think it is sadly lacking, in huge amounts, I might add, are flats. Flats and a few good thrill rides, ala S&S towers, or the like. To me, it's what makes KBF great. A well rounded park is everything.

Don't worry....it's not a virus:)

Just shut up everyone please!! Good Lord, just go to the park and quit asking stupid questions.Oh, it's always crowded on July 15th around 2pm, but the crowd lightens up at 330. So thats the best time to hit the park. Please!

LONG LIVE ARROW DYNAMICS!!
Dang! I've only ridden 163 coasters.

6 days at SFMM....your legs would be killing you by day 2 if not from walking up that tall hill by Superman and Ninja, then from walking to other side of the park to avoid the hill!

badboy- I said 3 at SFMm 2 at Knots and 1 at Vegas. I correceted myself.

Wow..... Derrick: what you are saying really isn't very logical. Comparing the Magic Kingdom with Disneyland would be a stretch, let alone Cedar Point and Magic Mountian.

Just because both parks have about the same attendance, doesn't mean much of anything, other than their attendances are about the same. You must Remember that Magic Mountain really lacks in the flat ride department, therefore, unlike Cedar Point, Magic Mountain will have a larger percentage of vistors riding coasters, as there are fewer options. Additionaly, have you seen how Magic Moutain staffs, and opperates most of their coasters?

You do have a point about the year round thing, but coincidently this is also your one point that wasn't extrapolated from your "herioc" day at Cedar Point.

PS: Next time your at Cedar Point Derrick, watch out for horrific line jumping.......I've heard that it is a problem at Magic Moutatin, and have the stub to prove it!!

It is very possible to ride all of the coasters in 1 day at SFMM, as I mnanaged it back in June. Basiclly First thing you need to do is ride X of course, If you ride it in the morning you will avoid a 2-3hrs queue for it later, After that its best to dash for DeJa Vu because that queue will also be long late afternoon. When you've got these 2 rides under your belt, best to take your time and go on what you fancy, My bet would be doing the remaining coasters in the order below if you can(This is what I kinda done and it seems to work rather well) that way you are going around the park in a circle, and not going back and forwards to certain rides(Its also a good order to avoid those Big Nasty hills where ever possible)

Phyclone(Should be Walk On, but might be on 1 train op so will probably be a small wait)

Gold Rusher(Might as well do it while you're down in this area, this also might be running on 1 train op, but queue shouldnt be out of the station so it wont be too long)

Riddler's Revenge(Might have a fairly long queue as this is a very popular ride, expect to wait about 30 mins early morning even on a weekday, should be a bit shorter later on in the day)

Batman(Should be Walk On into the station, why not wait for the front)

Colossus(Should also be walk on, but again it might be a 1 train op so it may be a small wait)

Goliath(Queue will probably be quite big at this point, but should not be more than 30 mins)

Canyon Blaster(A Kiddie Coaster near to Goliath Jr that you can ride, So might as well ride it to take the credit)

Revolution(Probably a walk on, and again on 1 train op, so only a small wait)

Viper(Always a walk on, And if you wanna avoid a headache, I recommed waiting for the front)

Ninja(should be a walk on, Wait for the front on this too)

Superman(Will only be running 1 side, so you will have to wait a while, should only be about 20 mins)

Of course if Flashback is open(I dought it) Best to ride it after Revolution because you will be in the right area for it.

Hope this Helps, have Fun when you visit :)
