Cameras in line

Brian, I'd just chalk that up as a case of an employee making crap up to satisfy your need for an explanation. While giving a guest BS isn't the best customer service, to his credit, the rule is out of his control, and guests never seem to be satisfied if an employee honestly tells them they don't know.

I was told at CP that it was against policy to take pictures while I was in the station at Wicked Twister. I believe there probably is a policy against it at all Cedar Fair parks it's just not written on any of the Park Rules lists.

Watch the tram car please....
Not sure of any official reasons... but it makes sense.

Stations can be the scene of chaos of people queuing up and traffic jams of people waiting for specific seats and blocking others etc. Last thing they need is form people to be tying things up even worse for photo ops.

"Yes... well... VICTORY IS MINE!"
I was even told to put away my camera in Dominator's station... while the ride was broken down. Ride not even in motion.

Its a fun policy. Cedar Fair seems to getting a lot of fun ones lately. Like the one where they close down everything in the park when 4 drops of water fall from the sky 3 miles away from the park. :)

We were in the Big Dipper station at Geauga during CoasterEXT, and we saw a couple other attendees taking pics of each other in the station, and the person on PA told them not to take pics in the station. We were all perplexed, as they were not about to board.

Someone above commented on an employee saying they didn't want the competition stealing their ideas. That's hilarious. As much as I liked my first visit to Geauga Lake, it's not exactly cutting edge. Who's going to steal the ride concept of Vaguely Resembles Batman and the City of Gotham, But Isn't ride.

What gets me the most is when I asked the security guards of the policy, they were clueless! Unreal.

And just a questions that might have something to do with what Coaster Krazy said and maybe jeff might even have an answer for me. When I was at CP, there was a rumble or 2 of thunder early in the morning, about 10:30 ish. No rain, and the sky cleared up. Now I understand why they shut down the coasters, obviously I don't want to mess with lightning. I was in line for blue streak, and could see raptor from the que as well. What I don't understand was the prolonged test runs before reopening. While I didn't count, this isn't embelished, mean steak must have tested between 20-30 times before riders borded. Raptor seemed to be on the same kinda pattern. Why such a long period of testing? remember there was no rain, so they weren't trying to dry the track or make sure the brakes weren't gonna be to slippy.

Damn Straight I do.

Come on. I believe that rain contributed only a little bit to the Magnum incident. Many people including myself had noticed Magnum over shooting the safties just a bit too much. Rain I bet made it slick for the coaster, but I bet you the same thing could have happened with a train with a heavier load than it did have.

It's just very annoying to go to a park on a rainy day, where before you could find a mostly dead park, but actually ride things. If rain really was the cause of the bumping, how about they try fixing the problem rather than putting a band-aid over it and hoping it heals itself.

Besides, riding coasters in the rain is fun! ;)

You're missing the point. They do have such equipment, and if they believe lightning is an likely threat, they shut down.

GL - the RIAA of amusement parks. Next they'll be going after anyone who describes one of their rides. Maybe Disney will straighten them out. :)
I got yelled at for taking pictures on the ramp to MF's station. The op said no cameras out on the ramp. I thought she meant the station so I said I would put it away before I got there but I wanted to take a picture of the next train to come by. She said I was on the ramp and I had to put the camera away right away. By the way, the ride ops at CP are often extemely rude when informing you of park policy before that is necessary if it ever is necessary. I don't know why but CP is the only park like that.
