Cameras for 2003!

I've used it while being exposed to 6.2 G's, and the camera is still undamaged, so you shouldn't worry.

at the moment, I've got a Nikon Coolpix 885, but I'm looking at picking up a Canon GL2 and a Firewire card. of course, the GL2/Firewire combo is all dependant on whether I can get my friends to help me out with a movie or not.

Yesterday at Carowinds opening was the first time I got to use my new Canon ZR-45 MC mini-dv at a park, and I'll also continue to use my Olympus D-490 some for stills.

SFNE Freak - Thanks! :)

It is nice that people use Canons - frankly, they have a product for pretty much anything you could want. If I really wanted a smaller camera, and could do without some of the advanced features of the G3, I'd have gone with the Elph. If I wanted a midrange, and could have given up the extra zoom, I'd have gone with Canon's S45, which, by the way, if you want a great camera and don't have the $800 I spent on the G3, the S45 is a GREAT bet.

I just can't get over the Canon's quality, even coming from a Kodak camera, which I thought was pretty darn good.

I just got a Canon ZR 40. I was getting a ZR 45-MC but I couldn't get it delivered. I bought it from 6 places and every one said they are out of them and not getting more. So now I got the ZR 40 from amazon. They are out now so i'm glad I got it. For stills I will probably use a disposable this year and get a digital camera for Christmas.

Normally I would have went with Canon as all my 35 MM equipment is Canon and that is what will hopefully be my livlihood, but reasearching digicams the FinePix 2800 stood head and shoulders above all other similarly priced DigiCams in every review I read.

6x zoom, 2.0 MP and what is essentially an SLR. Canon and Olypmus have some great cams but none that come near the value and ease of use of the 2800.

My trusty Sony DCR-TRV8, unless I decide I want to shoot some *real* stills, in which case I'll pull out the Aluminum Tank...my Pentax K-1000. :)

Well if we are going that far Dave I may have to bring out the trusty Canon AE-1 Program pushing 25 years old and still one of the best cameras ever made.

I just bought a Sony DCR-TRV18. And, Like Dave said, for real stills, I'll bust out the Sony DSC-P50.

That be because that line is getting phased out. New models are the ZR-60 up.

Kodak EasyShare LS443: while it may sound like at GP-quality brand, it does 4 megapixels, 3x optical (plus 3.3x digital). And QuickTime movies with sound. Which means that the (Kings) Island must be ready for the Panther (me).
