Actually, I was curious to know just how much of the audience was not involved with a club. Far more than I thought, actually.

Personally, I thought there would be more club members. I wonder if most of those non-club members share some common demographics (location, age, etc.)

Well, judging by what Jeff said, the majority of the patrons on this site are male, so it may be because the general population is cheap ;). Accually, my best guess, is that by the response to the age thread, most members are quite young and can't fork over $50 for an ACE membership, let alone an ECC membership.

Just my guess...

Or maybe people are like me, and would join a club, except for the fact that they have no way to get to the meetings at such distant locations, and see no other reason to spend money on a membership.

A lot of people join clubs for different reasons. I joined ECC because I like their magazine, and Justin is the bomb (I can say I know someone British)! Even still, publications alone are not much of a reason to join anymore, because of the wide and immediate availability of information on the Internet.
