Bush Gardens Tips

Stitch.....as far as Python - only once. The ops will ask (maybe beg) you to ride again.....they get lonely back there!

But, I did some research on GravityWorks, and it appears their website is down right now....it's here....http://www.gravityworks.com/. I tried to find a pic, and just got lucky through the FLCC website (thanks guys, I knew my fellow Floridians wouldn't let me down). Here ya go.....http://community-2.webtv.net/parkguide/Katanga/ Have fun at BGT, I'm going to Orlando for IoA and a spin on this amazing ride.....

Oh, so it's like a Turbo Force, or the blender at Boomers. Correct me if I'm wrong.

-----------------

Kumba: Always less than 15 minutes no matter what. This is never crowded. I don't know why..

Montu: Worth a wait but it's not extremely intense- they've slowed it down over the years.Still thrilling though.

Gwazi: Awesome, very fast and has good airtime. Only thing is the loading is the slowest I have ever seen.

Scorpian: I've never been on it but I heard it's not as bad as it looks.

Python: One ride if you have nothing else to do.

Tidal Wave: You get soaked but it takes a while to go through the course and up the lift.

Log Flume: Has a decent drop in the end but you don't very wet.

Rive Rapids: If it's hot out this will be packed. The last time I went to BGT the line was 2 and a half hours.

The flat rides are the same as in every park but they don't have that many. The Phoenix isn't that bad but the OTSR hurt. If Akbar's Adventures is open- do that. It's a great simulator ride near Montu. Also, it is a big park and the walk between rides can be very long.

Does this thing go faaaaaast!

I've probably visited BGT more than any other park, due to the fact that my grandparents live in Clearwater. I've seen it evolve from a dirty zoo with two coasters to a first-rate park.

I'm surprised that nobody mentioned the Dolphins of the Deep show. It's located in Timbuktu, and there are two good things about it. One, it's a great show. Two, you can walk on just about anything in the park while that show is going on-it's a real people eater.

I would actually do Rhino Rally first-the animals are more active in the morning, and it's the only ride at the park with serious capacity issues. It's not that great an attraction, but you've gotta say you've done it.

Another must see is Myombe Reserve, if you like animals. They have some of the best gorilla/chimpanzee exhibits anywhere.

And finally, as KTS mentioned, the lorikeets are a must. Yes, the birds will probably soil your clothing, but it comes right off :)

Will Akbar's Adventures seem like crap to me cause I'm spoiled from Spiderman? Or is it Spiderman rate?

Akbar shakes the whole time for no reason. If it is open, it will seem like crap comparing it to Spiderman. To me it is just a big vibrator.

I think they got rid of the live crocs. I didnt see them there this year. The whole area was drained out with no animals.

NOTHING is "Spiderman-Rate". Don't let yourself become a victim of anticipointment......and I am pretty sure the croc pit was empty last time I was there.....it WAS over a month ago, so they may have returned....from the SEWERS....ahhhhhh!

Welcome to the Cedar Point skyride....we'll take you up 50, drop you down 30, all at an amazing speed of 6 miles per hour....we won't see you back unless you make the return trip!

Man, the 'buzz is flowing with negative energy today. Just because a simulator isn't like Spiderman, that doesn't make it "crap." Enjoy it for what it is, not what it isn't

Amen to that. Ever since the debut of Spiderman, some have labeled all other simulators (and even dark rides) as "crap". Two entirely different animals really. (personally, give me an old fashioned dark ride anyday over Spiderman... not saying it is a bad ride... just that I like traditional dark rides.)

Now to compare Akbar's Tours to Corkscrew Hill (BGW)... that would be a more fair comparison wich I think Corkscrew Hill would win. However... come to think of it... with the 3-D effects of Corkscrew Hill, THIS isn't even a fair competition.

Truthfully, I did like Ackbar better than SW's Arctic Adventure (at least the simulator part... however I did like the animals at the end of Arctic Adventure).

There is one point during Ackbar's Tours that you swear you are actually ridding on a camel's back (or so I would assume... you don't see many camels around here). Also, good for some corny humor and "groaner" jokes.

BTW, who IS the actor playing Akbar? He seems AWFULLY familiar....
Martin Short is the Akbar Tour Guide.

Hopefully it will be better than the Arctic on at SWF because that thing is so boring, and is always broken down!
