Hit Gwazi first. Always nice to get the longest line of the day out of the way. The parks B&M's are capacity eaters and knowing the hospitality of Busch, it'll be three train operation the entire day. Don't waste your time on Rhino Rally, instead, get a few extra laps on Kumba and Montu.

Do they have any other good rides besides coasters and Rhino Rally? Where's the best place to eat? Should I get there before the park opens? Are there any types of fastpass things?

Don't expect to be thrilled on Rhino Rally, it's good family fun.

And just make sure you ride little Scorpion. It doesn't get enough attention.

Flats are not their thing....don't know why....there's a Schwarzkopf single-looper called Scorpion, usually pretty good waits for a single-train op, not to mention a perfect loop and a funky helix - watch for the *hop*. Flats are a swinging ship, Sandstorm (spinning flat ride) bumper cars, nondescript carousel, Crazy Camel - Trabant, I think. Wow, I remembered ALL five.....Water rides are good, nothing spectacular. If you do Rhino Rally once, that's about all anyone has......Montu and Kumba are excellent. Gwazi gets shorter lines if you wait until later. Python, as any Arrow corkscrew, is worth ONE spin, for the count (sorry, Arrow Guy). Best places to eat are: Hospitality House for the AYCE buffet, or Das Festhaus for the German food...

Great animal park, good food, good Gwazi, great theming, 2 awesome Beemers, solid Schwarzkopf. Geez, no wonder this is the park responsible for turning me into....an ENTHUSIAST....Don't arrive too early, not really that much to do (I almost forgot the free beer....how could that've happened?)

To maximize ride time (no fastpass), go right to Kumba and ride a few times, then hit the water rides before it gets TOO hot. Then work through Timbuktu for Scorpion and flats, and hit Montu right around lunchtime. Eat later than everyone else, then on for some Lion and Tiger around 4-ish. Folks seem to leave early, but Montu always seems to keep its line full even later...Have fun!

Areas that could still use "tweaking": we need a Zierer Wave Swinger, BAD. And ops on Gwazi can be frustrating, so I recommend hitting the free beer first....;)

Is it worth the wait for the front of Montu, how much extra time could it be?

For rich delicases and fine dining go to Das Festhaus, the German festival hall, but the real food is at The Stanleyville Smokehouse where your plates are piled full ofchicken and ribs which have been slow-smoked for hours.

Katanga is a must ride at Busch Gardens, and if you have time, try Questor. The Sandstorm and Phoenix are probably your best flats which are right in the same area as Das Festhaus and Scorpion.

Oh, and at the Anheuser-Busch Hospitality Center, you can get free beers if you're 21+.

In Congo, I'd check out Claw Island then head over to Kumba in the afternoon. Congo Rapids get very popular and has terribly long lines in the afternoon so it's a good time to ride Kumba instead.

What is Katanga ?¿?

Katanga is a Gravity-Works Skyscraper, but it's all the way in O-town, right next to IoA....

Questor is long-since gone....it was an AWFUL motion simulator....they now have Akbar's Adventure Tours, a WAY better sim. Poor timing of the movie/motion made me really, really queasy after Questor....for about a week...;)....did I mention how bad it was....good riddance!

What is a gravity works skyscraper, is it like a sky coaster or something?

Are you sure you aren't talking about BGW? I didn't think there was a Festhaus at BGT (there might be, though, I can't remember).

I would hardly call the Festhaus "fine dining" - anyplace that serves beer and bratwurst with a loud german band as entertainment can hardly be included in the upper eschilon of better eating establishments....

....for what it's worth, though, the Festhaus is a nice stop off in the middle of an otherwise busy day.

Stitch, yes, front Montu is worth the wait. Granted, when I was there, front was a 1-train wait, the rest walk-on, but still... Never before had I seen so much, the trench effects are greatly enhanced, you see everything, and best of all, you are treated to the best view on any coaster while exiting the Immilean (sp?) and through the 0-G roll. There is nothing like being whipped out of an inversion and seeing a plain of animals, then having it all rotate around you through a roll.

These people all seem to think Gwazi was a good ride. I think I should warn you it isn't (wasn't, anyways, in January) a good ride in the back row. Go for the front, hopefully it gives air and a semi-smooth ride there. Back was rougher than Shockwave (SFGAm) on a bad day.

Don't pass up "The Edge of Africa". It's a great little animal area that gets you very close to the little fuzzy monkeys and other cuties. Keep an eye out for all kinds of animals all around the park and don't be shy; Stop and enjoy them for a few minutes.

That's one of the reasons this park is so unique. Right after you eat, or when you get tired of the big, scary rides, you can go look atall of the very well kept, happy animals. They are SOOOO cute:)

The smokehouse in stanleyville is the best food outlet. The Vivi storehouse is good for healthy eating. The best snacks are in the small outlet in front of the Dolphin Theater in Timbuktu.

Get there a few minutes before park opening and go straight to GWAZI. I usually jog there and get a front row ride. After riding each side, I usually go straight to Montu.

Montu should have little to no wait for rows 2-7, with probably a 3-4 train wait for the front. BGT always runs 3 trains on Kumba and Montu.

Don't miss Scorpion or the water rides (hit them early). Congo River can get a 2 hour line on busy days, don't bother waiting for it if the line is over the bridge under Kumba's cobra roll.

Rhino Rally will be disappointing if you ride it. If you plan on going on it, you may want to right after Montu in the morning. Also, when travelling from Egypt to Congo or Stanleyville, use the skyride. However, wait times for it vary from 10 minutes to an hour, so it's your choice (it is a LONG walk).

It is a great park, you will enjoy!

You cannot miss the Lorikeets! As far as animal exhibits go this is a must see. You get to feed these birds as they fly around you, sit on your shoulder, arm, whatever. This experience was as good as a roller coaster! Montu front seat is worth any wait. I am spoiled now on front seat B&M inverted rides and I cannot accept sitting anywhere else now. A day of walk on front seat rides on Montu did it to me. If you have an extra 30 bucks do the safari too. Feeding the giraffes was worth every penny of the 30 bucks we spent.
