Branson U.S.A.

Nah, Morgan has picked right up where they have left off providing Arrow parts to existing owners. Morgan is also going to press their new trains for existing Arrow hypers as well.

I wouldnt count on Branson USA getting a B&M coaster in that new park so soon. Expect Dollywood to get that other contracted B&M for either 2003 or 2004. But there is a very good possibility that the new park might get one a few years down the road.

So are there any good guesses on what the new ride could be?

I'm preatty sure that both parks can afford a B&M in the same year. You may see one being built at Dollywood soon too. I don't know what type they'll get I am thinking Inverted or Floorless style. Branson USA may also get one too Could be an Inverted or a Flyer. If you think they have a 2 ride deal it doesn't mean they can't set up another 1-3 ride deal along with it. SDC and Dollywood are real money making parks and they can afford B&M.

I'd say put in a good CCI, that would make a good combo with Wildfire, so you'll have a great steel and woodie in the same area.

I'm not saying they cannot afford two beemers in one year. I'm saying they wont build them both in the same year. I doubt Branson will get a second B&M before Dollywood gets its first. Dollywood was expected to get their B&M this season, but SDC, Inc. decided that Wildfire was still fairly new and popular and they didnt want to steal any media thunder from it. Also, Dolly had been persistant in her museum concept and SDC chose 2002 to fulfill her wishes and SDC is getting improvements to FITH and Flooded Mine. SDC is sinking 50 million dollars into both parks over between 2001 and 2006. They are choosing to scatter the major coasters throughout the years and mix in cool attractions like DW's new simulator with those expensive attractions.

Those long term plans were set in motion way before they bought the old Branson so things could have changed a bunch. SDC, Inc. is known to change their minds fairly easily. I would say I smell wood coming soon.. a nice terrain woodie near the area of the train. ;)

I absolutley do not see Branson USA getting a flyer from B & M. It would be a waste to put such a high profile attraction in BUSA. I'm not arguing that they do not have enough money, just that the size and stature does not support that type of addition.

Size? Don't you know how much land Branson USA owns and has yet to develop. Te old owner told me they had like another 30 acers or so to develop and that land was sold to SDC. Thats why I'm not ruling out big attractions. Also THe Big attraction also may not just be a BM it could be an Intamin, a CCI coaster, or maybe a Premier launch coaster (I doubt SDC like Premier that much).

Yea, seems like Dolly and SDC know what they are doing, you have to spread out coasters if your not a big media park yet. I know all of us on here know where it is and such, but albeit that 80% of america doesn't know what it is, so they can afford to skip a big ride for a couple years.

Can we change the name of Top Gun to your mom so no one wants to ride your mom?

Are you talking about SDC? I'm pretty sure quite a few people have heard of the park before. SDC is to smart to build the CCI in B USA, They need a woodie in SDC itself. YOu have to admit, SDC would be the perfect setting for a CCI or GCI terrain woodie. YOu have to admit it. I'm picturing BUSA getting an arrow for their first. Who else would it be? I really doubt they will get another Beemer, as others have said, Dollywood will get one first. And SDC just spent 30 million dollars on Stone Mt. In Atlanta. (They built the south's first 4D theater)
I was not referring to the size of the park...I meant the size of people the park draws in. BUSA is not yet a big draw, most people outside of enthusiats don't even know it exists. They know SDC, that is what I meant by "size"

If SDC Inc.(the company) builds the old Branson USA park as the retro Luna-Park/boardwalk concept that was being kicked around then a woodie would fit in nicely at the B:USA park and we will just have to wait for SDC (the park) to get a wooden coaster sometime in the future.

Dollywood could stand to have a ThuNderaTion like mine train (yes I know they used to have a mine train) something that families can ride together.

I drove by the B:USA property last saturday on my way to SDC and noticed that more of the old parking lot has been removed and more trees have been planted. Some of the rides that sold at the auction have not been removed yet even though SDC Inc. said that everything sold had to be removed within two weeks. The auction was May 15.

I went to SDC today, it was a PERFECT day. Not a single cloud in the sky. While on the train, I did notice those paths that you were talking about, and no they were not there last year, so maybe they are going to be getting a new ride next year.

Isn't speculation wonderful.....

FYI there are people on this board who do know the future of SDC and notice they are the ones that have yet to say anything on this topic.

CoasterBill42, you aren't too far off.

Oh is that so?

Love the speculation. Just because somebody posts to this topic does not mean that they do not have a clue what SDC Inc may or may not be getting for their parks and soon to be park ;)

Well there are about three people that I know of that that KNOWS what is going on. Two are the ACE regional rep and his wife, and maybe the vice rep as well....and I also think Sparky has an "in" on the info. I have yet to see any of them post on this subject.

With that previous mention of Stone Mountain, does anyone know what SDC wants to do with that park? Will they ever add any rides or are they keeping it more like the way it has always been?

I agree with SDC possiblity of looking at geting a CCI at one of their parks. From what I know SDC is probally hearing good things from other parks about how they like CCI to buide more rides at thier park like HW and IB. This is a very high probability for SDC to build. If they do I hope its not with Gerstlauer (Gerstlauer is german for pain) trains but rather than PTC or CCI trains.

And Swoosh I don't think our ACE rep know whats going on with the park it seems like he just act likes he knows it when he doesn't.

Just keep telling yourself that Chris. Our rep knows a lot more than he lets on...but maybe I know this because I am on TPO staff and talk to him more. Whatever.

SDC is growing that is the one thing that you can be sure of.
