Branson U.S.A.

Monday, June 3, 2002 1:42 PM
Everyone already knows that SDC bought this small park out. I was just surfing www.rcdb.com and it said that all these coasters were to be sold on 5/15/02. Well seeing how it is now 6/3/02 I figured someone out there in Buzz land knows who purchased these coasters. I saw them in December and they didn't look all that bad.

Is Branson USA closed? I'll be in the area this weekend and might stop by.

Branson USA is closed and nothing is left. They auctioned off all the rides with the exception of a couple. They have already begun construction of the new park. Rcthemepark36, when you go to Branson stop by the old Branson USA site and take some construction snapshots. I will be going that way in late August for the big classic car parade they have. Its the best time to visit Branson because it gives you something to do other than SDC and the country shows.

What kind of park are they building in Branson?

I live just up the road from exB:USA and SDC and went down and watched the auction. SDC Inc has started building the new park. I wish the Zyklon could have stayed, going to miss that ride.

Do you know where the Zyklon is going? It was special to me, becuase it used to be at Hamel's Park. I never got to ride it there (I was scared of coasters then), but lucky I rode it at BUSA.

Ha Ha Ha.... I drove by the new park, and they have definately started construction for a new ride, they have already cleared some land out for it. I am excited for the new park to open! It will be a whole year though :( They said that they are just adding one coaster next year, but they will gradually increase their amount of rides.

I talked to a park employee that said next year, instead of having a combo ticket for SDC and White Water, the combo ticket will be Branson USA and White Water. Also, apparently SDC will be completely re-doing Branson USA and some of the shopkeepers at SDC may be moved to Branson USA for next year. Also, the big news is that Branson USA will be getting '2 monster attractions' for next year, but apparently are keeping things a secret for now.

Where did you hear this great news?

I had heard about SDC doing that combo plan, it sounds interesting. I know they are getting one new coaster, could there possibly be another?? Either way you put it, I am sure it will be a whole lot better than the old B USA, they will do a lot of themeing! C ya

I hope SDC decides to put a second B&M in that park. Turn Branson USA into a Xtreme type park.

I can easily see them getting another new ride next year or the year after. I dont know about B&M though. I think that SDC is going to invest a lot of money into new rides at the new park.

I got my information from a park employee (an old neighbor that now has his own painting shop at SDC). I would expect Branson USA to be more of a amusement park than a theme park.

Yeah, I have a feeling that SDC, Properties is going to become a small chain of good parks pretty soon, like Kennywood. I am pretty sure that it will be an amusement park more than a theme park, they want to show the world that Branson, Mo can have just as great of an amusement park as any other city can.

I know that a B&M is a real possiblity for Branson USA. SDC was very pleased with WildFire and is hoping t do more bussniss with B&M. The other company that SDC may have been looking at was Arrow but with the problems Arrow is going through, I wouldn't expect them to beuild anything next year.

I am hearing that parts for Arrow rides are now getting hard to come by because of whats going on with Arrow.
