Boring coaster design age.

haha, never heard of a Metro...

I can tell you this. In the movie...They were going a lot faster than 40mph.

Geo Metro, very small car!

Yeah, but they showed them being souped up and weight taken out in the movies, so they kinda explained it:).

No, the fastest I ever did in the Met was 90mph. 120, That was in my brothers Charger...

But going 75-80 mph in a Metro on a road with small hills is quite thrilling...probably moreso for the passenger though ;)

It's still me, here from the beginning back in 1999. Add 1500+ posts to the number I have in the info section if you care about such things.
Hey, I didn't say 75-80 wasn't thrilling in a Metro, just going 60;).

The complaint about TTD's layout is less original than the layout. If it is not for you, don't worry about it. Others like it. Do you think all drop towers are unimaginative too?

I couldn't have said it better myself. Find something new to ***** about, and try to stay away from six flags.

Shouldn't you be watching american idol?

The Italian Job Ride....As a Mini owner, I have to say this ride is a joke. 40mph is my average speed. When you're motoring, ESPECIALLY in Italian Job terms, you have to go a lot faster than that.

And yet you seem to have such a hard on for Hulk, which rcdb lists as having a launch of.....40 miles per hour! Granted, the launch is up hill which makes it seem a bit more powerful, but you say in your same post that you would like to see more rides like "Revenge Of The Mummy" be built. RCDB lists Mummy's top speed as....40 miles per hour.

I have to agree with SFGAMDie HARD. Looking at Great Adventure, the last imaginative coaster we got was probably The Chiller. Nitro and Medusa have great layouts but they have no theming. Superman has an incredibly short layout and Kingda Ka is just really tall and fast..

Yeah, but isn't Kingda Ka going to be the Staple ride of a BRAND NEW themed Area?

I don't like when people hate on coasters that aren't open or the theming that isn't even there yet, because it still has a good 7 months.

Thunderhead does have an awesome layout. Granted, no bunny's, but the only straight track in the whole thing is the loading station and the station fly-by...

Okay, some of you are naming off all these original layout coasters that just opened/are about to open and I didn't say that there are no good layouts anymore.

What I'm saying is basically, I'm wondering if this trend of, IMO, lame layouts is going to continue and how diverse our ride choices will be in the future.

It's not a rant or complaint as much as it is just a contemplation, will this be the future of coasters?

Mildly amused since 2003.
You know, I love launched coasters, but I would really love to see a 400+ foot lift hill coaster. I just love the suspense, the relaxing feeling of being tipped on your back, and the spectacular views (depending on the park) that accompany clanking up a lift hill. Having a 400+ foot lift hill coaster with a very steep drop, some spectacular airtime, and a nice long ride would be the ideal coaster for me.
