For reals?

EDIT: Oh wow, just read the report. That's a bummer. *** Edited 8/3/2007 2:07:06 AM UTC by matt.***

almost all woodies valley their first runs. Even Meteor did three times.

Unfortunately the immense amount of rain over the past several weeks has made this project very difficult. Good to see they were able to get a test run in, apparently it has been stressful for all parties involved.
I have been waiting on this for a long time. I now wonder when opening day will be??
So that means what 3 or 4 weeks left of testing.

Bolliger/Mabillard for President in '08 NOT Dinn/Summers

Labor Day weekend, maybe earlier??

Try a few days unless any major problems crop up.

Chuck, who's ridden many a woodie within a week of completion

I'm guessing a soft opening soon followed by a media day on the Thurs or Friday prior to Labor Day weekend.

Yeah, Renegade opened less than a week after its first test run if I recall. *** Edited 8/3/2007 5:14:35 AM UTC by Acoustic Viscosity***

And if I remember correctly, Kings Dominion's Hurler had its media day about four hours after the first train ran through.

The Boss had about half a day between first run and first riders - the G trains weren't ready and the media was coming the next day, so they borrowed a PTC from the Screamin' Eagle. I treasure those rides!

Could someone name some others? "Almost all" sounds like too much to me.

I'll be there next weekend. Keeping my fingers crossed, but not too tightly.

I survived a Japanese typhoon and the Togo flat ride of death!!!!!!
SOB, Legend, THE BOSS, Starliner. Twister, SOB again with the G trains and its also common first runs of a season

Should I go on? The track guage is extremely tight. The wheel bearing grease is full viscosity and cold and half the time they just want to send it on it's first trip before greasing the track ect.

Most woodies Valley, Matter of Fact, Boss had so much trouble they put the PTC's from Screeming Eagle on it for their media day and still won't run the coaster with less than ten people sitting in the first three cars. That or all seats with sandbags.

I would guess Ghostrider rolled back as well. It barely makes it up to the scenic turnaround as it is. Hershey Wildcat valleyed with its new trains. El Toro has valleyed several times. Did Hades? I'd think that high turnaround after the first tunnle would be a trouble spot.

Meteor stopped three successive times in three different turns before for it complete it's first full run

You're listing more than I realized but it still doesn't sound like "almost all" to me. Maybe it's just a matter of semantics.

Here's video of the rollback, btw:
