B&M gone a little quiet?

has anyone else noticed how B&M has gone very quiet recently? except for nemesis inferno there are no other coasters announced for the future. it is normally about this time that parks start to announce new rides, and not one seem to have a B&M.
cedar point seem to be getting a launch, and SFMM are looking at the worlds biggest woodie, both of which i should think will be made by intamin. no other parks (maybe except for SFGAm maybe getting a flyer, but thats only a rumour) are getting a B&M. i wonder why?
its not like they have all of a sudden become to unreliable or expensive to build. my thought is that maybe because B&M tend to move so slow with new developments, most parks (who could afford one) already have one or 2 B&Ms and so dont want another.
a flyer would be a good thing to install, but they are still new technology that many parks would want to advoid until they have been proved totally reliable over a whole season of use.
maybe B&M could have put the first nail slightly into their own coffin by not developing as fast as the competition?

end of random thinking out loud!

B&M are rich as hell, they aren't going out of business, they are probably just slowing down for now. SFMM won't make the world's largest woodie for a while. SOB is so rough that no one else wants one. If someone makes a bigger one look who held the record for 3 years... anyways, Cedar Point isn't getting a coaster, get that through your heads, there would have to be a lot more footers poured, and plus parks ahven't really been seeing an increase in attendance, so they don't have the money for a new big ride.

Well Cedar Point is getting something, and it very well could be a coaster. Cedar Fair has announced that attendence is up this year. I'm not saying that it is a coaster, but it is possible.

Teenage Ninja I'm not quite sure what your talking about. How the heck do you know what SFMM or CP will do?

Anyway, back to B&M. The market is slow right now and B&M coaster aren't exactly the cheapest. That's all it is, no conspiracy theories please.

i wasnt saying that B&M could be going out of business, just commenting on the fact then at a time when the amusement industry seems to be on a huge up, the worlds leading coaster manufacturer seem to be going a little quiet when their competition (namely intamin) seem to be advancing at an alarming rate

Cedar Point isn't getting a coaster?

Mwahahahahahahahahahaha.

B&M isn't quiet. They don't order the rides, they don't announce the rides. Hell, they don't even manufacture the rides. Besides, you have no idea what's going on behind the scenes.

There are quite a few parks that havent announced anything yet. Six Flags usually doesnt announce anything until the track is lying in their parking lot and they are ready to put up the first few supports. There could be the possibility of a couple B&M flyers this year, one at SFGAm and one at SFGAdv. SFStl and SFWOA seem to be getting hypers next season. Who is to say those won't be B&M. You never know what Cedar Fair is sitting on right now as well as Paramount.

That's what I'm saying. Most announcements aren't made until late August-September at the earliest. There's no way to know what all of these parks will be announcing.

The worlds biggest woodie, eh?

Anyways, I don't think SFMM will be getting a coaster next year. Heck, with all the problems X has been having, another coaster would not be good. Perhaps 2004.

And for Cedar Point, well, we all know they are getting something.

Well after releasing their version of the flyer, and unleashing their tallest coaster, common sense points to bankruptcy. (Sarcasm)

Thank You for challenging TOS: The Ride. We hope you enjoy the rest of your day, here at SFCB.

well, that is what the rumours have been, or at least the wests biggest
Well thats a new rumor to me Laurence. Ya'll cats kill me sometimes. The season ain't even done yet!! Be patient!
Jeff, are you insinuating something? You seemed to be right on your predictions for WT.

You can hear the laughter, you can hear the mighty roar. From the brickyard down in Indy to the white Chicago shore. It's a rollin', twistin', turnin' and might we both suggest. You get you fanny ridin' on the Cornball Express!

Wow, I can think of at least three B&M's going into parks next year. I'm sure there are at least two I have no idea of worldwide as well.

I can't get it through my head that CP isn't getting a coaster. Those three footers sure ain't for a Slingshot. ;)

SFMM building the tallest woodie in the world? We'll see about that...

Not to turn this into a rumors thread or whatever...B&M is doing just fine. Why would you think otherwise?

Seemed to be right? Did Cedar Point build something that wasn't an Impulse?

Jeff's predictions for WT? He knew all along read his encrypted message.

Intamin Impulse

Double Twists

Over 200 feet tall

BTW Jeff why do you have to do this kind of stuff to us? Man you just gotta play us constantly. ;)

All I need is 4.5 million bucks and a half a mile long sliver of land and maybe someone could build me my very own Shivering Timbers. ;)

Peanuts on Ice, if you want to consider that building something.

I think that B&M is doing just fine. If you were them, would you be worried? Make this same post at the beginning of March next year and I think you will be plesently surprised how many more B&Ms there are. I would say there will be at least 4 for 2003.

Cedar Point-America's Roller Coast.

This year, 8 B&M coasters opened. It is still quite early for most parks to announce new rides. So far, there is Nemisis Inferno, thats it. It's only August, I'm sure in three or four months there will be a number more of B&M coasters announced. With 8 new coasters, and 1 already announced, I'd hardly call them quiet. Want quiet? Talk about Arrow. I'm sure it's R&D is very quite right about now, along with everything else (thanks to SF...)
No, their coasters are just as loud as ever. Except for the ones with the sand inside the rails to dampen the sound.
