Let's face it, yellow is the weakest of the primary colors....blue and red are far and away the favorite colors for most people...
bill, saying I used to like blue more, but lately, I like red more.... BTW, the opposite color to Blue is.....Orange......go Gators! Yankees over "the Sawx" every time....
P.S. S:RoS has red track....less than a week away...:)

rollergator: MF has blue track. Less than 2 days away :)
In a joking way, yes my question of "What is a buckeye" was serious. Seriously. Whenever there's a Michigan vs. Ohio game around here, all the stations go around asking people "What's a buckeye?"

As for the Red/Blue controversy... why not?

Chuck: What the hell does it matter to you? Do you think you've been unfairly treated?
Gemini had red and blue trains because they're basic non-offensive colors and contrast with each other. There is no conspiracy beyond that, and there certainly is no "never ending argument." It wasn't an argument to begin with.

Gemini was racing one time I was there, although I did notice that red always won. (seems like you trade heavy trims on Mantis, Raptor and Weak Streak for a racing Gemini and high capacity on busy days ...)
And I would just like to state that if I EVER wanted the Ravens to win, I would first stop riding coasters, then maybe break my legs so I couldn't even go to amusement parks ... then maybe I'd root for the Birdies. And any good Steelers fan that doesn't think the same needs a good knock to the noggin! :)

I can't believe no one knows what a buckeye is at this point. It was even explained in some crappy movie that I can't remember.
Anyway, that's not the most cryptic college name. What the heck is a fighting illini? A boilermaker? A zag? (Yes, I know what they are).

Or a nittany lion for that matter? Oh wait I know what a nittany lion is ... its what you call the same mascot as the school 200 miles away when you can't come up anything cooler than a Panther ... :)
And I thought an Illini was actually an indian tribe?

I was on Gemini's red train when it raced. We beat blue by a few train lengths! I mean, we absolutely annihilated them! On that race, I screamed "Eat our DUUUUUUST!" down the drop, and they certainly did!

I agree with Den's perspective. I work for the University and the whole "Go Bucks" crap is almost intolerable at times. Furthermore, any rivalry is one sided anyway as I've heard that Michigan doesn't care about Ohio State.
The Ohio Buckeye (Aesculus glabra) is the state tree of Ohio. The term Buckeye has been used to describe people of the region and for politcal grandstanding for several hundred years.
There are other species of Aesculus including other types of buckeyes and the horsechestnuts. Buckeyes are known for their early spring flowers and it is one of the first trees to leaf out in the spring. The name comes from the seed which, when peeled, is said to resemble the eye of a deer. It is also supposed to be a good luck charm.
The tree is subject to wilt and spotting and they generally look pretty sad by midsummer.

And PhantomLost: You were close, but the biggest college football rivalry is Army/NAVY. The folks out here go NUTS! Throw the records away folks, the footballs are gonna be flyin!
BTW: On topic, I like the racing (well actually dueling) colors of Twisted Twins best. The Pink and Teal are still in the red/blue *family* but far enough off to be different.
