Blue Streak at CP running better?

Blue Streak is worth more than any other coaster at CP, IMO (and believe it or not, that has nothing to do with my wood coaster bias).
Yeah, BS (affectionately dubbed "Brown Streak" by my husband (roflmao)) was the only coaster that didn't close while we were there. It was my favorite ride! I loved 1:3.

What does it have to do with the Rob? Just curious is all.

Let me say it like this, IMO Blue Streak is an average classic. I see a coaster like Phoenix as worth traveling for and Blue Streak worth spending some extra time with while there.

I think your question is missing something (perhaps a word) because I can't figure out what you're asking me. Let me know and I'll be glad to answer!

"and believe it or not, that has nothing to do with my wood coaster bias"
I'm saying that the Blue Streak is more of a reason for me to go to CP than the rest of their coasters not because it's a wood coaster and I have a thing for wood coasters- it's merely because I enjoy that ride more than Gemini, Raptor, Millennium Force, Magnum and Wicked Twister. Just like Nitro is a reason for me to go to Great Adventure, not Rolling Thunder.

I would have taken, "I have a thing for wood coasters" as "I am biased towards wooden coasters," that why I was asking. I thought there was some other reason other than your love for wooden coasters. Why it matters to me I dont know, guess I am a little bored at work.
Isn't "being biased" towards wood coasters the same as "having a thing" for wood coasters? Not that it matters though, as there are plenty of steel coasters that I thoroughly enjoy- hell, there are parks where I prefer their steel coasters over the wood ones.

And yeah, there is a reason other than my love for wood coasters- I just feel that Blue Streak is the best coaster in the park, regardless of what it's made of.

Tricky wording if you ask me... :)

Hey, if CP can get away with tricky wording, so can I! ;)
Get over it will ya Rob. ;)

Besides, you and I both know that the Big Dipper is the best wood coaster in the chain!! ;)

Yeah, maybe if Ghostrider suddenly fell over...LOL! :)

Honestly, I am hoping for some NICE rides on BS next week, but I still think the *family* John Allens at Miracle Strip, Lake Winnie, and Family Kingdom had more to offer to thrillseekers...

Yeah, but Bill, Ghostrider has those dreadful orange staple bars!! ;)

I always forget about Ghostrider because Knott's sometimes seems so "disconnected" from the CF chain, being all the way out there in CA.

Ghostrider is, by far, one of the better wood coasters I have been on. The pacing isn't as good as that of other CCIs (there are quite a few dead spots, particularly from the drop off the first turnaround to the drop off the mid-course brake) but there are also some extremely powerful moments. I love the finale where the return track is completely buried in the immense structure!

Next to Ghostrider, Big Dipper seems to be the best wood coaster in the CF chain, followed ever-so-closely by Villain and Blue Streak when it's running well. As I've been saying, Thunderhawk COULD be there, but you know...

I was there last week, BS was running out of control. Tons of fun. I had a front seat ride on the 16th, and it was bombin' through the course.

Rob, you'd think more highly of T-Hawk at Dorney if you hadn't gotten *THOSE rides* on it at some point.

My first trip to Dorney was about 5 years ago, my last trip was last PPP, and I can honestly say that while I do know it was once a Schmeck GEM, it's still *infinitely* better than what HersheyPark did to THEIRS....(heresy-park?)...;)

John Allens are great fun family rides....as are the post-mod Schmecks...the pre-mod Schmecks, however, were THRILL rides...

I rode Thunderhawk years ago- way before that second trim (the one on the bunny hops) was added- but my memory is kinda blurry and back then I wasn't comparing coasters to each other. I wish I could get a REALLY good ride on it because it's a coaster that I know I should be liking. A lot.

What Hershey has been doing to the Comet for years is a travesty. That skid brake on the station turnaround is so pointless yet so effective at killing what could be one of Schmeck's greatest finales.

What else can you say...Blue Streak simply rocks this year.
We found Blue Streak to be extremely rough last year. The lapbar was really killing our legs. I liked that it provided air, but the overall roughness of it was too much. My wife hated it though from top to bottom.

Mean Streak on the other hand didn't cause more than slight discomfort with some laterals.

Maybe we should've ridden it again, but I don't think I would've gotten her on it again.

How soon do we all forget that Shivering Timbers is also in the Cedar Fair stable of wooden coasters??

Just another proverbial log for the fire :)
