Blaze destroys Wilidwood ride at Morey's

Workers were performing maintenance on the pier's Balloon Race ride shortly before 2 p.m. when flames broke out, Wildwood officials said.

They will be able to get a new ride when the insurance company is finished with the paperwork.

They will either get a new ride of the same type or something else with a small footprint.

I don't know what Morey's policy reads like, but deductables can be very high for commercial and industrial policies. A $100,000 to $250,000 deductable is not unusual.

Yes, but insurance of any kind that pertains to the amusement industry usually is very different from the norm. It's why the premiums are much higher than out there in the "normal" world.

that ride sucked anyway, its no big deal to Moreys, they will replace it quickly

It's a shame. I don't know why but Wildwood and fires seem to go hand in hand. I seem to remember a fire happening there back around when they had the Vekoma sit-down looper. Boy, those flat-rides can sure be expensive.

hey agent, what I meant was that it was just a kiddie-ride, it was not a major ride, and besides that there was no othjer damage, so calm down.
