Blaze destroys Wilidwood ride at Morey's

Workers were performing maintenance on the pier's Balloon Race ride shortly before 2 p.m. when flames broke out, Wildwood officials said.

Thats too bad. I feel sorry for their loss, but that's what insurance is for.
They will be able to get a new ride when the insurance company is finished with the paperwork.

I don't know what Morey's policy reads like, but deductables can be very high for commercial and industrial policies. A $100,000 to $250,000 deductable is not unusual.

Yes, but insurance of any kind that pertains to the amusement industry usually is very different from the norm. It's why the premiums are much higher than out there in the "normal" world.

It's a shame. I don't know why but Wildwood and fires seem to go hand in hand. I seem to remember a fire happening there back around when they had the Vekoma sit-down looper. Boy, those flat-rides can sure be expensive.
