I don't know why anyone would want to save it, but apparently there are some people who actually liked the thing, so I'm all for it.
Like I said elsewhere, I don't get why more enthusiasts don't LOVE this thing to bits the way I do. It's one of the most powerful airtime coasters ever built and is pretty secure in my top 5 forever. The ride has no historical or nostalgic attachment to me. It's all about the wicked John Miller design. I don't see much point in "moving it" as most of it will probably have to be rebuilt from scratch and I doubt the classic trains will be allowed to be used without modifications. A brand new ride with the exact same layout/profile and unrestrictive trains/restraints would be great. Either way the chance to experience that crazy non-stop airtime machine again is great news to me.

Real helpful to Kat.
Exactly my point. Some of us catch some serious crap around here for our 'realistic' take on such endeavors.
In comparison to the parody site, we are downright helpful.
Perspective. :)
Sadly that website isn't much worse than his actual website when it comes to design.
I think the only thing the "parody" website does is prove that some people have too much time and too much money on their hands. Registering and hosting a site isn't free. That's why we didn't reserve the .com name as well. I think the fact someone actually wasted their time and money with that says something all on it's own.
I especially love this part of the parody site...
"I AM PRINCE DESMOND BISHOP AND HEIR TO THE THRONE OF NIGERIA. I ALSO LIKE ROLLER COASTERS VERY MUCH AND I HAVE MADE IT MY QUEST TO SAVE THE BIG DIPPER ROLLER COASTER HOWEVER MY FAMILY FORTUNE (VALUED AT OVER $1,000,000,000,000 AMERICAN US DOLLARS) IS TIED UP I NEED A SAFE WAY TO TRANSFER THESE FUNDS BUT THE BANK WILL NOT DO IT UNLESS I HAVE 300,000 US AMERICAN DOLLARS TO RELEASE. PLEASE DONATE AS I CAN SAVE THS MAJESTIC ROLLER RIDE COASTER FOR ALL TO ENJOY."

Registering a domain isn't that expensive thru godaddy, and I'm sure he's hosting it on his TPR servers.
He's still an idiot though.

It's $10 (give or take) to register a domain and he stuck it on a server he already had running.
Not defending anyone here, just saying that $10 isn't exactly an investment.
Again, it's an obvious dickhead move and I think it puts the realistic outlook you get from the 'preservationist poopypants' around here into context.
It'd almost be worth $20 to register RobbAlvey.net and put some crap up there about them, but I'm really just not interested ;).
Tekwardo - I know this is completely off topic, but is that Intimidator in your avatar? I've been trying to figure out which coaster it is and that's the only B&M I can come up with in that color scheme.
It is indeed :). I took that during a construction tour, so the trains were bare and had no stickers or signage on them as of yet.

^Somewhere around here there's a Kitt-Kat joke just waiting to be told... ;)
You still have Zoidberg.... You ALL have Zoidberg! (V) (;,,;) (V)
Doesn't matter, somehow he's immune to copyright laws, as he has shown by using copyrighted music in his videos that he sells (He claims fair use, but he's making a profit and those aren't documentaries).
Oh man. I didn't post that link as a catalyst for a bash Robb session.
I posted it because in comparison our crappy attitudes about saving coasters isn't so crappy.
It was meant to be pro-poopypants. :)
Yeah, but Alvey bashing is a fun sport, Gonch!
(For the record I edited my first post because it was a bit much, even if it's totally true...)
I am at a loss for words....oh wait, I am not, I expect this childish stuff from him.
Luckily for me, the site is blocked at work for security risks.........otherwise I would probably throw him a very hateful message.
Am I the only person that finds that page mildly amusing? Now that someone "we" like has bought the thing are jokes no longer allowed?
Hi
No, jokes are totally fine.
In fact, I still don't know if there is anyone outside of enthusiasts that want the thing, but the thing now is that at least people who have it now are willing to store it and sit on it.
Closed topic.
