The Big Dipper wooden roller coaster, a staple at the defunct Geauga Lake amusement park since 1925, is on eBay with a starting bid of $9,500, and a "Buy It Now" price of $65,000. Tom Woosnam of Apex Western Machinery Movers in Akron made the one and only bid, but said he represented someone who wished to remain anonymous. Through Woosnam, the owner again declined to reveal himself or comment about the eBay auction, citing verbal attacks that coaster enthusiasts have made to him about his intent.

Cedar Fair should of made sure "BD" went to a owner who would look after it and get it back to working order, but they don't care about any coaster history just their profits.
Not even a little true. I have it on good authority that Cedar Fair went out of its way to find a good future for that ride (to the extent that it wouldn't adversely affect their own expenses that they were trying to reduce in the first place), and they reached out to all of the usual suspects. Those organizations, companies and individuals were either not interested or incapable.

Lobstah rolls are wicked awesome. New England as a whole is pretty cool. Except for the sports teams... ;)
I do wish these anonymous enthusiasts (whoever they are) attacking this owner would cease and desist. So that he may proceed in turning the ride over to a new owner who might try and operate the ride. ;)
I just don't like the odds...esp. with a newly-rehabbed Starliner being "on the market".
edit: Dropped a wionkie somewhere...it's back now. Before I get "attacked" (by enthusiasts nonetheless!) :)
Well, I think this pretty much includes everything that is irritating. We'll just call it: #12
It could be one of the uncovered nipples...or a typo...or Maverick.
