BGW to go before planning board for New France Addition

Gonchar... I think I understand what you meant. You meant California Screamin launch was not the "ride's" gimmick like it is for the Premier launch coaster, RnRC, etc.
There is quite a bit of un-used land between the brewery truck dock and park itself. This area does indeed border the New France area further south on the park/brewery border.

Smitty, the plan says the its going to be in the middle of the park (aka the gorge, where LMN interlocking loops and Alpie's Cobra Roll preside) so its not going in the land your thinking of.

Anybody watch or hear anything about that township meeting on Monday night? I realize details can sometimes be scarce but I got a lot out of the public documents that we were allowed to read.
Busch is not going to build another dueling coaster. Half the time they don't run both trains on Gwazi. I'm surprised Dueling Dragons and Lightening Racer don't close one of the trains more often. Of course it sucks to run just half of a dueling attraction, but very few parks have the attendance to justify running both trains all the time. The only parks I see meeting that capacity demand consistently is Disney.

I'm curious how big an issue the noise level of a wood coaster really is. Is there a quiet colonial village located next to the park? *** Edited 3/8/2006 4:41:00 PM UTC by rc-madness***

yes, RC. Although actually it's a quiet planned golf course community, called Kingsmill.

Busch should offer the colonial golfers of Kingsmill a chance to join the 21st century with season passes. Then maybe wood coasters wouldn't sound so loud during those back-swings. And seriously, folks who think golfing is more fun than BGW cannot be appeased no matter what you do. It may come down to squatters rights: who was there first? Should a community decide to move in next to an amusement park, noisy coasters is pretty much a given cost to living there. And who says people aren't moving there to hear the constant sounds of amusements? You don't hear resort hotels complaining about the noise from the resorts. *** Edited 3/8/2006 6:43:17 PM UTC by rc-madness***
Actually, rc, it will probably come down to some sort of noise control ordinance. I'd almost certainly think the city/county has one, which would state a maximum permissible sound level (decibels) that can be measured at your property line emanating from your site.

The memorandum from the meeting agenda indicated there's a substantial wooded buffer at the edge of the property, which would definitely help to absorb and disperse sound-- as long as it stays in place. Anyway, I think the noise issue was brought up here and not in anything we've seen in any of the applications or reviews so far.

Wood coasters require a lot of work, and Hersheypark has the off season to maintain Lightning Racer. Isn't it possible that BGT has a wood coaster with two tracks just so that they can have it operating year round and still do maintenance? Maybe dueling isn't the priority. Maybe it's not having excessive downtime that might occur with a single-tracked wood coaster at a year round park.

Clear as day, it's a dive machine gentleman. I thought this in the fall before rumors came out because I just thought the equation was coming together with how that company operates and the timing for a new coaster, etc. Nothing that has been leaked has proven that but certainly everything has gone according to plan if it was one right up to the height variance. There is not too much brainstorming to be done with this one, now to CP, that's another story.
When did Le Scoot's drop become 120 feet (as the article reports)? I think that'd be a bad decision to remove it. Why not just build around, above and below Le Scoot? I'm such a preservationist.

Count me in! Where do I sign up?

Sign up will be at our first EAST FLUMER event, the 1st weekend of February, next year, in Allentown, PA. I'm trying to get the Days Inn(I hear it's a great place to have meetings).
I dont think we have to worry about Le Scoot, the offical notes (posted earlier) said the attraction will be located in the center of the park. Le Scoot is not by any stretch of the imagination in the center of the park (in fact its completly on the outside of the park loop) the reporter might have gotten the facts wrong.

The other thing is, I seriously doubt they are removing Le Scoot; everytime I have been to BGW this ride has the longest line of any of the water attractions, if you notice on the website many attractions arent listed on the website including Le Mans Speedway.

We still need ALFE, either way.

Hey you form it, Ill sign up for it. I love log rides, always have, always will thanks to Santa's Village (NH) and Canobie Lake's which in the former was the highlight of my visit and in the latter second to a ride on the Cannonball and Corkscrew when I was a kid.
