Don't think this will be a 2018 attraction; but 2019 maybe? Supposedly the area the attraction is proposed, is just across the Germany to Italy bridge, to the right of the grotto theater. "Madrid" is the name association with the height waiver request. My speculation is that this will be a new land, Spain, and its attraction will be the first RMC TRex coaster. Beefier than the raptors going in at SFTex and CFGA. If I remember correctly, Wonder Woman will be 200ft tall, and railblazer will be a duplicate. With raptors being "single rider" row, and TRex concept being "dual rider row", this will allow for increased capacity vs raptor, and beefier track will allow for greater heights. (Just my speculation) this would give BGW a big slash in the media, offering a new type of coaster, at giga heights, differentiating it from Apollo's Chariot (and I305 at nearby KD), and establishing a major attraction for a new land.
*Odd that England is the only land without a ride attraction. Scotland's got LNM, Ireland will have the Fight for Eire simulator (rehabbed Europe flight), France Griffon, New France Invadr, Germany Verbolten and Dark Castle, Italy Apollo's Chariot and Tempesto. Why no love for England?
It’s a little premature to associate a height figure with a specific ride, especially when we’re talking 300’+. My money would be on a Starflyer or similar.
Don't forget Elmo land is part of England. Between park ops, the entrance, the emporium, the globe theatre, and the kid section there is no room for anything.
No one complains about Main Street USA not having an E ticket.

The height figure comes from the article; and the figure that was citing when BG applied with the county for waiver of height restriction. I don't know about a Starflyer, since there's one at KD( only an hour away). Of course any speculation includes a bit of wishful thinking. Here's a news clip giving info on the proposal.

Not a complaint, just pointing out the oddity of it. Then again; New France is the only area not featuring a show. On an aside, isn't there room across the rail tracks leading over to escape from pompei?
You really think the first TRex they build will be a giga? Seems like there would be at least 1 that is a more standard height first.
Coasterbuzz - Coaster enthusiasts, but so much more. We're the good ones.
There’s a drop tower, log flume, rapids ride, and plenty more at KD that BGW has as well.
If you’re counting on a coaster you’re going to be pretty disappointed.

TRex is designed to accomidate bigger structures than their raptor. However; I was wrong about the height of Wonder Woman/railblazer. They're 100 ft (roughly) I thought I remembered 200ft. Inlight of that, It would be a stretch going from 100 ft template with raptor track to 300 ft TREx. (Raptor being the same type of track but smaller dimensions). Then again; RMC has a tradition of "going big" right out of the gate. NTG was anything but toned down/test for their first ride. Outlaw Run was certainly a bold statement for their first ground up woodie. And Lightnng Rod certainly shot for the moon as their first launcher. (But they've experienced their share of headaches tweaking it, maybe they'll take that as a lesson to tone it down on first efforts ? )
But I say if you're gonna dream, dream big.

I say roller coaster cause that's what the news broadcast said. It's possible they just meant "ride/attraction" and misspoke, also possible that roller coaster was listed in the paperwork for the waiver request. Who knows? I've not been able to find the waiver paperwork online. Pretty confident it wouldn't fall under the purview of the freedom of information act.
Roller coaster was not mentioned in the height variance request, simply attraction. It’s not a giga.
Here’s the paperwork they filed.

Thanks tekwardo; I've been searching for the waiver request for awhile. I wonder why the newscast said "new rollercoaster"?!
A Star Flyer over the river could be quite thrilling...
You still have Zoidberg.... You ALL have Zoidberg! (V) (;,,;) (V)
Apparently they’re starting work on the former Drachen Fire plot. I don’t know if it’s for their Halloween event, or if the attraction will cross the Rhine river onto that plot, but I’d say the former is more likely.
Hey, let's ride (random Intamin coaster). What? It's broken down? I totally didn't expect that.

So they just wouldn't light it up. Pretty simple.
I've never seen a Star Flyer not light up at night.the parks already pretty dark at night (I went Labor Day, not sure what it's like mid summer, maybe it's relatively light around close then?).
It is possible to buy a Star Flyer and not purchase the lighting package that everyone else purchased.

It's also possible to ask for an exemption for lighting, as they have with the height variance request.
