Best time to visit your home park

Excellent!!! Have fun! I'll be going there... a lot when they open! We have Spring Breaks' in Ohio from the last week of March to the Easter weekend. PKI will be swamped. Hopefully, a lot will go on vacation elsewhere.

We are visiting relatives in KC and will get Cedar Fair seasons passes at WoF (6th & 7th). We couldn't resist Louisville on the trip back, for the $40 Six Flags seasons passes. We will spend half a day at SFKK and move on to PKI for Fri evening, Sat, and Sun.

Hello to DangerousDan. The schools in MD get out around June 17 or June 19th. I live in Montgomery County, MD and the high schools get out around June 17th and the elementary schools and middle schools get out around June 19th. That is when the schools get out around MD for public schools. Six Flags America is almost never crowded. You will want to go Six Flags America during a weekday because that is the best time. Last year, I went during a thursday and the lines were less than 10 minutes on everything, even S:ROS at SFA was about a 10 minute wait. Joker's Jinx, Two Face: The Flip Side, and the Minderaser were walkons. Roar was about a 5 minute wait and S:ROS was about a 0 minute wait or less. Any weekday during the summer is not crowded at SFA. Even weekends are not too bad but I recommend weekdays such as a wednesday in the first week or second week of June would be great. I hope that is helpful for u DangerousDan and anyone else who wants to know about Six Flags America. P.S. Don't visit Six Flags America in April or May because not all of the rides are operating yet and Batwing won't be ready until at least mid May.

SFNE is always crowded during the summer, unless it's rainy. The best visits are early and late seasons, of course.

Thanks for the MD update Dave. That's good news for us. The first week in June sounds like it will be less crowded, should be a little cooler, and hopefully, the hotel rates will be a little less.

Can anyone else give some insight on the school schedules for OH, PA, NY, and NJ?

Schools in PA generally end in early June and start the last week of August. I know this as a product of the school system here.

Schools in NY generally get out around the 20th of June. Last year I took my daughter to SFDL during the week, in August and the park was half empty. You could get on any ride without waiting. The only real time to avoid the park is when there's a concert, then generally the park is crowded.

Schools in NJ get out about the same time as the NY schools. However, there is a hitch. Most schools in NJ use the last weeks of school for bus trips to SFGADV. There are many days when the park is packed with kids that have little supervision until the buses leave about 4 or 5pm.
