Best time to visit your home park

Hi what is the best time to visit your home park. Can be time of day, what day of the week and what month is best, I know to avoid holidays. I'll be doing alot of traveling this year and would like to know best times around the country. My home park is SFDL so the best time to go is anyday lol.

Typically a Tuesday in the off season is the best time. If it's a seasonal park, go before school is out. If it's year round, go on a Tuesday when school is in. If it's a weekend, go on a SUnday when it isn't a holiday weekend.

Oooooh, my freekin' head.... Too many G's Too many G's! No, no, Too much Beer before the G's! Home Park: Knott's Berry Farm
If you are going off season, of course any day is good...
But at peak season, make sure there are no special weeks where season ticket holders get to bring a buddy, get free food or stuff like that...
Apart from that, believe it or not, Thursdays were the quietest, i dint know if this is in general or just at SFNE...
And, dont be fooled into thinking that sundays are not busy.....THEY ARE!!
Wish I could say the same for my home park. I guess the best you can say about SFGADV is if you go on a day that is drizzeling on and off it's not too bad. Most weekdays are good. Weekends and holidays are the pits.
Most sundays at SFGL weren't crowded at all. I went on 4 different Sundays and they were fine.

Well, at SFMW, it's generally not very busy Monday through Friday. We went last year right after the 4th of July weekend and it was dead. Walk ons on all the coasters. They even let us reride Roar in the same train, it was that dead. I'm not sure about weekdays at PGA however. I would assume they are around the same. We went on Saturdays and Sundays to PGA in October last year and it was still busy. Stealth's line was a good two hours. I would've hated to see it on a Saturday during peak season. Peace. :)

Medusa at Marine World: the best coaster in the west!
My home parks are Holiday World and SFStL. SFStL isn't too bad on the weekdays, but you should NEVER go on saturdays, it's VERY crowded, especially Hurricane Harbor. You can go to Holiday World on any day though, it's never crowded!

Well my home park is SFGAm and it can get very crowded during the season. Anytime, not just on Saturdays and Sundays. The BEST day to go is on the opening day. Most non-coaster fanatics aren't thinking about it yet.

2 for 1 in 2001;SFGAm all the way!!
The first Saturday in November at PKI was awesome. My friends and I rode every coaster in the park in about two hours. Then the crowds came for the afternoon.
Well, My home park is Alton Towers, and the best time to go there is middle of October on a weekday, I know people who have been on days like these and every ride is a walk on, and you never get any queues, its because October is leading up to Winter and the whether is just not very nice at that time anyway so hardly any people go to theme parks then.
Infact any weekday at Alton Towers is a good day to visit as crowds are always generally lower than weekends, however all of August always has heavy crowds whatever day you visit in that month.
The best time to go to the parks is during halloween season.

Long live the Phantom!
Blink3020-Actualy, I might be going to SFGAm first day of the season. I'm waiting to see of Deja Vu and/or V2 are opened first.

My home park is SFGAm and the perfect day to go is in early June. Go on let's say a Wednesday and you'll have a good time. I went last year and it was in the high 70's, not a cloud in the sky, waits were at the minimum, and the Eagle was Racing, now that's a prefect day. I left the park completely satisfied. :)

For CP, ummm...ASAP! I need to ride. Luckly I'll be going to PKI next month when they open, so I can get a slight coaster fix. Oh how I miss my Mantis, Maggie, and Millie.

Halloweekends are pretty fun, but opening day is also fun.

Coaster Zombies Invasion is the best time to got to Six Flags America. Otherwise a rainy week day when the woodies are running fast. You have to watch going early in the season since they don't always have everything running. Of course Batwing isn't scheduled to open until sometime in May.
I like to go to parks on the week days because the park is practically empty. I also like to go on Sundays. Not as busy as Saturday.

Westside!!!
The best time to hit Knoebels is the final full week of operation before going back to just weekends. All the kids are back at school so it makes the park a ghost town. The hours are cut back to 8pm instead of 10pm but you will get your moneys worth out of the handstamp.

Every single ride is basicly a walk on except maye the bumper cars but thats no more than a five minute wait. The woodies you only really have to wait until the train gets back to the station.

The only thing that they don't have open are some of the games and smaller vendors that walk around the park. I rank that in the big deal section though.
SFMW is rarely crowded but the best time to go is during the weekday (im in year round skool so i get breaks every 2 months) so when traditional skool is in the park is empty.

are you ready to go vertical?...V2 SFMW 2001 ...
If you go on a Tuesday or Thursday to PKI, usually none of the rides besides The Beasts', Drop Zone, and maybe Face/Off will have a line over 30 minutes. FoF, Top Gun, The Racer, and Adv Express have been walk-on to 10 min. lines. Almost all of our rides are this way through the weekdays. Saturdays have brought even kiddie rides to hour waits. Oh yeah, beware Ghoster Coaster if you're a parent. Pretend it's not even there. You'll have to wait in a seemingly endless line and have to squeeze you're leg and your butt in those little chairs. Go for RReptar. Should be a great ride. We expect anyhwere from 20-45 minute waits at the beginning of the season. I guess it will depend on how many trains we'll have.

Can some of you help by telling when the schools in your area get out for the summer? I would like to find out for SFAm (MD); SFGAdv (NJ); SFDL (NY); SFWoA, CP (OH); and KW, KG, DP (PA).

My kids are out the last week in May (NC), so I am hoping to beat the school crowd the first week in June.

Thanks,
Dan
You're coming to Ohio and not visiting the Kiddie and Wooden Coaster Capitol of the World?!?!?! Not to mention the best park in Ohio. ;)
