Best Run 6 Flags?

SFFT! They by far are the best!

Be yourself, eveyone else is taken...

I've been to SFNE, SFMM, SFA, SFWoA, Great Escape once and at least 10 times to SFGadv. Based on experience, I would have to go with SFNE because when I was there last July, every ride was in operation (and ride ops was actually efficient) and the park staff was very corteous. The only downside was Mind Eraser running with 1 train. *** Edited 1/31/2005 3:33:09 AM UTC by coy***

You won't see me coming...

The only Six Flags park that I have been to is SFKK, about 10 times. I have never really had any desire what so ever to go to any of the other Six Flags parks, and the only reason I go to SFKK is b/c its close to home.

I can't say that I have really ever had a bad experience at the park, the coasters, well, they have a variety, my opinion, not the best variety. Greezed Lightnin' is great, as well as Thunder Run. I hate T2, I have the biggest head and ear ache everytime I get off that coaster. The Twisted Twins are ok.

The best night by far was during the Fright Fest. Absolutely no line for anything, eventhough at HELLevator, there was only 5 ppl in line, but it took about 15 minutes to get on. The staff were friendly, the park was clean, the theming was lacking, but it was still the best night.

What I find funny is the mix of opinions on the parks. The word I'd use (based on replies here) is inconsistency. Seems kind of weird that you can pick a single park in the chain (with a few exceptions, both good an bad) and get such a mixed reaction from multiple people and multiple visits.

I've been to 7 SF parks and if I had to rank them based on the park overall, it's go:

1. SFOG
2. SFA
3. SFNE
4. SFDL
5. SFMM
6. SFGADv
52. SFWOA (yes, the park never delivered for me in any area)

I've visited all of those parks at least once during the previous three seasons. I should be adding at least 2 new SF parks this year, so I'll be interested to see where they fall in at. (I'm not counting 'unbranded' parks owned by SF)

Hmmm...nobody rates SFGAdv high? ;)

Haha no I'm not giving Patrick the finger

All of the following SF parks I have been too I will rate.

SFNE, SFDL,SFA,SFGADV,SFWOA.

Last year I saw SFGADV was making changes and you could see that they were actually trying to better there park and staff. When I went to SFNE. All rides were open and staff was nice and the park was clean. It was just happy to be there.

Thanks,
DMC

Well, if we are ranking them:

SFOG - decent
SFDL, SFKK - poor
SFGADV, SFMM, SFAW - horrible

I have never been to SFoG, but have always heard it was the best. Out of the ones that I have been to, I would probably give Darien Lake the best rating, and Kentucky Kingdom the worse.

My rankings are as follows:
1) SFGAm
2) SFGAdv
3) SFStL
4) TGE
5) SFNE
6) SFDL
7) SFWoA
8) SFKK
9) La Ronde

I left out SFMM because I haven't visited since 1997 and don't have a very clear recolection of it. I personally don't understand the hatred for SFGAdv (or the worship of SFNE), but that's just me.

Nate, we've been down the GAdv road before, so I'll spare everyone this time ;)

I must admit that I have noticed much progress in 2004, so I'd be willing to go out on a limb and predict that if they continue the rate of progress made in 2004 than by 2010 if not sooner GAdv will be hands down the best run / best park in the chain.

5)SFA

Had a horrid time at SFA... those seemingly poreous bathrooms, Operators surfing the trains as they dispatched out of the station, and the bland food was enough for me.

St. Louis was very clean, and the staff was better than average. I had a great time because of their expert hosting.

And to what seems to put me in the minority, I visited WoA on a slow day last summer, and the lake was gorgeous. Obviously there were no waits, and I had fun with my friends as we hit some shows, some animal attractions, and all the coasters, with time to spare. *** Edited 1/31/2005 7:08:26 AM UTC by Fun***

I don't know why SFAW gets such a bad rap. While they have had problems in the past, I have seen great improvement over the last couple of years.

I would say that SFMM and SFGADv are not as well run, but it is fair to judge a park on a few visits spaced out over multiple years?

Gee wiz, your first post and you've already proven yourself a tru fan. Way to go man.

Anyway, I'll vouch for SFGAm on this one. Ops were great, park was clean, and every other flat ride wasn't standing dormant. (Gee, which park could I be thinking of there?) I can't vouch for the food though, despite my elephant memory I can't even remember where we ate. SFStl is one of my sweeetheart parks, too. I love the place, and things always seem to be tip top when I visit.

Worst has gotta be SFA. I keep hearing about how much better things are every year and I just don't see it happening.

I dont know what the best run SF park is because I haven't been to all of them, and can't really say.

The Six Flags that I have had my best experience was SFNE. Nice and Clean, and the staff was friendly. Good collection of operating rides.

I have had my worst experience at Six Flags America, but that is the park of theirs that I visit most frequently.(I get my pass processed, and I usually make at least one more visit.)

Only been to 4 SF parks (three branded as well as The Great Escape).

Of those... Best to Worst, in my opinion...

1) SFDL, 2) Great Escape, 3) SFA, 4) SFGrAdv

While SFDL employees did seem to be kind of slow and "unmotivated", at least they were pleasant. They were "unmotivated", but they were pleasant. And the park was clean... and with the exception of two flats and the log flume (which was beign repaired), all rides were open. At the other hand... SFGrAdv... Never... I mean NEVER... have I seen lazier employees, more unmotivated employees, more arrogant and rude employees. Add on to this that the park was dirty and many rides were closed (so much so that in some places I thought I was walking though a defunct park), and it gets the "Worst" raiting.

Suprisingly (based on our history) I actually agree with Nate. I've seen nothing wrong with SFGAdv operations. Granted, Rotting Lumber is a pile and Viper is a chiropratic's dream, but the general staff seemed to work hard/efficiently. Not Disney by any strech but definitely not Ed DeBevic's either...

My brief list

Top tier: 1. SFGAm, 2. SFGAdv, 3. SFFT,

Middling: 4. SFoT, 5. SFWoA, 6. SFAW, 7. SFoG, 8. SFMM, 9. SFNO, 10. SFDL

Pitts: 11. SFKK, 12. SFA

note: all the middling parks are about the same.

Best run though? Seriously, that place has...well, had, LOL...a jillion or so flat rides, most of which don't run that much or at all (Evolution, Jump, Parachute Tower, Top Spin)....and I know I'll catch some flak from my GAdv-fanboy friends, but it's also far from the *friendliest* park in the chain...

Tops for me: SFoT, SFFT, SFGAm, SFoG...

Heard a rumor somewhere that SFFT was going to be sold off because their staff was TOO good, and was making the rest of the chain look bad by comparison...;)

You still have Zoidberg.... You ALL have Zoidberg! (V) (;,,;) (V)

Been to AW, FT, OT, SFSL, and MM.

I had a great time at every park.

Sure every park has bad parts and good parts, but I think some of Coaster Buzzers go out looking for problems.

Relax and enjoy the rides. Forget about rating everything at a park, and just enjoy the experience. I think you will have a better time. *** Edited 1/31/2005 3:50:54 PM UTC by Markieb***
