best place to live for coasters

The first poster claims that SFGA is 4 hours from Columbus, OH. I don't know if you're referring to Great America or Great Adventure (or maybe even Over Georgia?) but either way, that's way off. SFGAm is about 6 1/2 hours away if you drive around 75, and SFGAdv is about 8 1/2 hours away.

That being said, Columbus (my hometown) is a wonderful place, if for no other reason than I grew up within jogging distance of the Sea Dragon at Wyandot Lake :). Depending on your rate of speed when you drive, you have CP, PKI, KP, and SFWoA within 3 hours, not to mention LL, and SFKK isn't too much further. I do just what Gator said-live in Ohio, vacation in Tampa (well, Clearwater, actually).

Obviously, the best place has to be a place where you can ride year round. Sorry, you just can't do that in Ohio. In fact, a large percentage of your summer days are rained out. But, ahhhhhhh, sunny SoCal. Year round coastering on Goliath, X, Deja, Superman:TE, Batman TR, Xcelerator, GhostRider, Riddler's Revenge, California Screamin'. Then we also get Stealth, Roar, Medusa, the Big Dipper and V2 within hours.....year round. I was thinking of a midwest trip in late September then remembered, oops, they close those parks then. Yup , the best place is the place you can ride year round. Maybe Florida comes a close second.

Yea but if you have time when you can't coaster, it just makes the anticipation of the upcoming season that much better ... plus if I'm always coastering when am I supposed to ski??
