best place to live for coasters

Just wondering where people thought the the best place to live would be if you are a coaster enthusiast. I live in Columbus, OH and feel very fortunate to be within 2 hours of CP, PKI. and SFWOA.4 hours to MA and SFGA, and KK.. among others.

Well like I've said elsewhere...

I'm 1 1/2 hours from IB
3 hours from PKI and SFKK
3 1/2 hours from CP, SFGAm, and HW
4 hours from MIA

I would say I'm well positioned.

im 1hr away from PKD and 2hrs from BGW. and last, but not least, 12hrs from CP!! lol, my idea of a good place would be a 10min walk away from CP...

Somewhere near the “coaster-belt” of America…the Midwest!! CP, PKI, SWOA, IB, MIA, etc, etc, etc.

Two Minutes from PKI is allll you need! :-)

Well, for parks, I'd say in southern LA county. DL, DCA, Knotts all at your doorstep, Sea World, Legoland, universal, and SFMM about 1 hour away.

Let's see...only Chicago & the Dells are "close" to me, but I still have SFGAm, VF, Big Chiefs, WoF, SFStL, CP, IB, HW, SFKK, SFWoA, PKI, MA & a few others all within 8 hours or less of a drive. Not too bad. :)

I live in Pittsburgh. Kennywood's in the back yard. Little over an hour to SFWOA, add another hour and I'm at CP. PKI and Hershey park are not to far either.

The worst day at Cedar Point is better than the best day at work.

Utrecht/the Netherlands. 1 hour driving from SFH, 9 hours of flight from SFGAM, 12 hours of flight from CP and something around and about 16 hours of flight from SFMM. Ow, how happy i am living in the place where i live now... (noticed the sarcasm?)

Ohio may well be the best, but Maryland isn't too bad. This is remarkable considering that Baltimore doesn't have an amusement park.

From my house, SFA is 1 hour. Dutch Wonderland is 1 hour. Hershey is 1.5 to 2 hours. Williams Grove is about the same. SFGAdv is 2.5 hours. Knobels is 2.5 hours. Dorney is about 2.5 hours. PKD is 3 hours. There are also numerous small parks along the shore. Easy overnight trips would add Kennywood and BGW.

Not the Northwest where I live. I'd say the best place is the midwest, where I used to live.

-----------------
Steel: 1)MF, 2)Goliath, 3)Magnum
Wood: 1)Villain, 2)Beast, 3)Roar(SFMW)

I live in the same general area as Joe Carroll, and it's not a bad spot to be.

If I had to pick one location for coastering, though, I would move back to Pittsburgh.

Look outside, I know that you'll recognize it's summertime. - The Flaming Lips "It's Summertime (throbbing orange pallbearers)"

I'd have to say Ohio or S. Cali.

Coasters and Chronic
What a Combo!

Western PA, since you and Kennywood are in the middle of all the great Ohio and eastern PA parks! Not too mention, being just north of SFA :)

1.Phantom's Revenge 2.Thunderbolt 3.Montu

OHIO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kara owes me two cookies. hmmmmm cookies.

I'd have to go with CA, OH, PA, and if you love B&M: Florida.

My two favorite coasters are named Superman.

I think the Midwest is the best place. Where I live I am within a 5 hour drive to SFGAM, Big Chief, HW, SFSTL, MA, IB, WOF, VF, Adventureland, SDC, PKI and a few others. I am a day trip away from over 100 coasters of which 12 are CCI woodies. I feel very lucky to live where I do.

I like where I live, but I could think of better places to be at. I am 45 minutes away from Six Flags Marine World. 2 1/2 hours away from Paramount's Great America. 7 hours away from Six Flags Magic Mountain/Knott's Berry Farm/Disney's California Adventure.
