BEST park....

I want YOUR opinion, what is the best park you've been too. Try to grade on cleanliness, friendliness, atmosphere, food, rides, history etc. I haven't been to many parks at all and I'd just like to know what is good out there besides CP.
Check out the park evolutions thread. Its similiar to your topic.
My favorite parks that I have visited (in no particular order) are:
SF Magic Mountain
Kings Island
Cedar Point
Busch Gardens Williamsburg
SF over Georgia

I haven't been to Kennywood yet but based on what I have seen and heard it would probebly be listed if I had been there. (Next year!)
Six Flags Great America
Cedar Point
Busch Gardens Tampa

All three are excellent parks that I have been to.

What's life if you never get to the Point?

CP is my fav. But six flags ohio is probably the nicest-its clean no lines PKI is nice too but lines r too long there all the time i go all the time
For me its The Mountain.

Cleanliness = A-
Friendliness = A (Both food and Ride Ops)
Atmosphere = A+ (Gotta Love Trees)
Food = A (Mooseburger Lodge, good food)
Rides = A++ (Quality over quantity)
History = B+ (NL Vacation, First Looper)

Cedar Point comes in at number two on my list.
Cedar Point is my home park and Intamin has built its best there so I like The Point Though I haven't been to many parks here are my grades for the Major rides and the Park. On Intensity and Fright the better the grade the less intense or Scary it is.

Cleanliness: A
Friendliness: A
Food: B

History: A

Rides:
Mantis: Overall B-

overall Manits is fun but it just doesn't have that extra element to make it world class.

Raptor: Overall A
Fun Factor: A
Fright Factor: A

Raptor is the best and only inverted coaster i've been on

Mean Streak: Overall C

Airtime: D
Intensity: C

Roughness: F
Mean Streak would be a good ride with some changes to the design and no brakes

Magnum: XL 200 Overall: A-

The Older Brother of Timbers, nuff said

Millennium Force OVerall: A-
Fun Factor: A
Fright Factor: A
Airtime: A-
Intensity: A
Ride Time A-
The Force is a great ride though not perfect, its fun and u really can't compare to Magnum. Both are fun and great rides in differnt ways

Busch Gardens would have won if it had like two more coasters. So I will say a tie between PKI and CP. They both have a great collection of rides. I had just as much fun there as I did at CP. At CP all I do is wait for coasters alll day. Their games are crap too. PKI had short wait times and fun games!!! But CP has MF which evens out evrything. Two great parks.

Overall the park is great and it doesnt bore me like Cedar Point does. I cant wait untill next year when I get to ride the steel hyper coaster that will blow Millennium Force away, even though phantom already does.
My favorite park of all time has to be Knoebels.
For cleanliness I give them a 10. I always see several people with brooms and empting our garbage cans.
The only friendlier park I've been to was Holiday World. Knoebels is a close second to them.
The atmosphere is the best of ANY park I've been to. It has the most trees of any park. 3 Wulitzer organs playing at different areas of the park. There is also a stream that runs thru the park with several briges crossing it including a covered bridge. Not to mention the rock paths that are way cooler in the summer than asphalt. Knoebels even has a band that goes thru the park with their mascot Kosmo. Durring the parade they give out kazoos to the little kids and get them to march with the band. They even wave at the people waiting to get on rides.
I believe they have the widest variety of food of any park. They have everything from hoagies to mexican food. It is probably the best park food I've ever eaten and deffinately cheaper than Cedar Point, Hersheypark, and Kings Island.
They don't have as many rides as CP or PKI but the rides they have are great. The Bumper Cars ar old Lusse Auto Scooters the best bumper cars I've ridden. They have an excellent dark ride thats still fun after riding it at least 100 times. Then there are the Flyers. These are the greatest flying Scooters on the planet! They are actually run at full speed so they actually go about 20 feet in the air. When you get the cables to bounce (snapping) thats when the real fun begins. Their carousel is one of the biggest I've seen. It has around 65 horses and 2 chariots. It even has wood carved horses unlike the new crappy fiberglass ones at other parks. This is probably one of the last places where you can still try to get the brass ring on a carousel to get a free ride. I still ride the carousel. Their antique cars are in a cool location as well. What other place can you actually drive around and thru a roller coaster? Parks hit for 2000!
PKD,BGW,DP,HP,PKI,HW,SFKK,SFA,SFNE,LC,GE,QP,Camden,Lakemont,Knoebels, SFO,CP,
Best Park overall.
Islands of Adventure. I have not been to CP or kennywood but IOA is tops on my park record the park is just amazing in rides, atmosphere, theming, food(mainly in the city walk), and all around family entertainment. My only complaint would be that they could use a woodie!!!!
Second would have to be SFGam I have not been there in awhile but a good impression is a lasting impression.
These parks have one thing in common though....
they are the only two parks with three B&M coasters!!!!!

-------------
#1 Steel-Incredible Hulk
#1 Wood--Timber Wolf
GRL, I respect your opinion when you think that Kennywood is better than CP as I have not been to Kennywood yet. I find it hard to believe that Steel Phantom BLOWS Milleneum Force away?? If SP is so great why are they revamping it? I don't think they will be revamping MF in 10 years. Maybe SP is better (the 225ft drop into the ravine looks awesome) but I can't imagine ANY coaster blowing MF away. What didn't you like about MF that makes you think it is such a bad coaster?? I don't think this was a park/coaster competition (trashing) thread. The point was to list what parks you like. Obviously you like Kennywood and that is great. I can't wait to go next year. I don't understand why you have to trash MF?? To say Phantom's Revenge is going to blow MF away is ridiculous until you have ridden both coasters for comparison. I may agree with you next year. *** This post was edited by CP Twister on 8/11/2000. ***
CPTwister, you shouldnt sweat his comments, Im still going to ride it regardless...Sorry, Seven, I'll strike my last comment...

Coasterr,
Please let GRL be entitled to his opinion. There is no need to ruffle feathers around here.

revolutionary, the revolution wasnt the first looping coaster. The flip flap railway had a loop and that came before revolution.
Two words: Cedar Point! :)

Id have to agree with T-Wolf.Islands of Adventure all the way.Sure they dont have 14 coasters but i think all the other awesome rides they have make up for it.Also i dont think that many parks,if any,can match how much theme and detail they put into every aspect of the park.Overall its just an amazing place. *** This post was edited by hockeyman on 8/11/2000. ***
just to correct, CP has 14....
Wasn't the Corkscrew at Knott's Berry Farm the first looper?

-------------
Phantom of the Opera?
NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Phantom's Revenge
Oh I knew that!
NO it was a wooden coaster I dont know the name though.
Six Flags Magic Mountain

You talk about history: The Revoultion The world's first succsessfull looping coaster trough the woods. THE GRISWALDS! Wally World!

Rides: Coasters are GREAT! The really need a transportation system there other than oreint express. Climbing up the hills can be tough.

The secery is great with the trees. Gotham city has great work done to it with the loud intiminating music. Also Batman : The ride has the best theaming around. Waiting in beutiful Gotham city park before Joker took over then after! Then going into the sewers hearing the rats chirp and into the bat cave! Can't beat that! Golitah!! You wait in a mini Jungle! Riddler's revenge! Waiting in the Riddler's lab at the station! Transformd into a night club. Ninja's line is also good with the chinese paintings.
