Best non-full circuit coaster

Saturday, December 16, 2000 11:27 PM
Since SFGAm are getting 2 non-full circuit coasters this year I was wondering what is the best type of this coaster? Is it the impulse, invertigo, shuttle looper? Let me know what your opinion is on this.

1)Superman:Ultimate Escape
2)Speed:The Ride
3)Superman:The Escape

Those are my favorites!

Have you ever gotten the feeling that you've been here before? Six Flags Magic Mountain 2001...

1. Superman the Escape
2. Superman Ultimate Escape
3. Batman and Robin the Chiller
4. Invertigo

Although I haven't ridden some of them I can tell that I will probably like them.

I haven't ridden too many, only Face/Off, Mind Eraser, and Suzy. I like Suzy best followed by Face/Off. Mind Eraser, well, doesn't even rank.

I've only ridden two shuttles, Boomerang at SFEGardens and Sidewinder also at SFEGardens I liked the Sidwinder more even though it was shorter and lower it was cool cause it launched foward and backwards and those drops seemed pretty steep.

I agree with RollrCoastr00. Sidewinder @ SFEG has some GREAT airtime. My friend bashed his knee on the top of the front car because the airtime lifted his knee up.

1.)Speed: the Ride
2.)Montezooma's Revenge
3.)DejaVu - uhhhh it will be!
Top 5:

1.) Medusa (west)
2.) Stealth
3.) Goliath
4.) The Riddler's Revenge
5.) GhostRider

Though the launch on the Premier shuttles (i.e. Mr. Freeze) is great, the rest of the ride lacks.

I really enjoy the old Arrow shuttle loopers. Small, but intense. The air time surprised me when I first rode as well. And yes, being launched both forward and backward is a nice touch.

Top Steel - Mamba
Top Wood - The Boss

Well of the ones I have been on, a boomer (ME@SFO), invertigoes (PKI & SFA) and S:UE, I have to say that I liked the invertigoes the best. Even though I am not a big fan of cobra rolls, they are really fun (at least the first half) inverted and backwards. I just really like the way the world looks on those things. (BTW: I prefer to sit on the ends rather than looking at someone, except the one time i got my mom on face/off. That was pure comedy!)

The old Laser Loop at Kennywood was my favorite.
Counting down

I loved blasting back through the station backwards and then the sudden stop when you came back in.

I get upset that I was too young to ride the Laser Loop when it was still there. My brother says it was a pretty great ride... and you don't mention that to Mom without her telling you, "If I could have gotten off of that ride at the top of that thing, you can be sure I would have!"

Ol' Rick Sebak (I guess you Pittsburgh natives will know who he is) really needs to update the Kennywood Memories show. Maybe they'll move that old footage of the Laser Loop over to "Things That Aren't There Anymore" or "Stuff That's Gone". Not to mention anything they've got on the Steel Phantom...

How dare you vanquish the Steel Phantom without his consent? Fear the Phantom's Revenge.
