You like Zonga, but dislike Mindbender??? (Faints)

Lyrically, I'm supposed to represent
I'm not only a client, I'm the playa president!

While it isn't new to me, its new to SFKK. I enjoyed getting back on Greezed Lightnin' after years of missing the ol' girl. While its not as powerful as its days at SFGAm, it still is a fun ride that shouldn't be missed.

S:UF at SFGAm met my expectations. While alot of others here find the course after the pretzel loop boring, I find it to be a fun journey.

The new to me coaster that didn't live up to its hype is Raven. Sorry Raven lovers, but its not #1 material where I stand. The Legend spanked it and put it to bed without dinner.

Arena football has arrived in the Windy City. Go "Chicago Rush"

I agree with Bakeman completely. I never really rode many flat rides until last year, (Tomb Raider: The Ride, and yes, I still find it to be a blast!), but after riding Delirium this year I was SOLD! Awesome ride! TTD was a big rush too! But the bomb of the season for me was Scooby Doo & the Haunted Castle (PKI). Even my three year old thought it was lame.
New for 2003: None of my rides were let downs. But SWAT, Diablo Falls, Haunted Lighthouse @ SWT and Superman: Tower of Power were the ones I rode.

Old, but new to me: Alpengeist and Steel Eel were insanely awesome while Apollo's Chariot was a complete case of anticipointment.

Arrow, even the straight parts of our coasters hurt.

Exceded expectations: Scream! I was expecting the worst hearing everyone say it was rough and that the train rattled. It was actually quite smooth and had a slight rattle that didnt ruin the ride. I really liked the zero G roll on it and I actually think it is better than the roll on Kraken.

Exceeded expectations: Steel Venom Only because it is the only impulse coaster I fit comfortably in. Otherwise it was a bit underpowered. The fact I could reride without worrying if I would "make the restraint" made it that much more fun. I also like that the station is right on the ground (versus V2) and that it interacts with the midway well.

Met expectations: Superman:Ultimate Flight (SFGAm). About what I expected. The ride is a one trick pony, which is a great trick but the rest of the ride is to borrow a CPlayism "Cold Fries Bad"

Met expectations: Primeval Whirl - My first spinning mouse and a helluva good time. Not as intense as I thought it would be but when spinning is involved that is a good thing.

Did not meet expectations: Greezed Lighting(SFKK) It wasnt what I remembered from the old Tidal Wave. Very underpowered launch, didnt go high up on the back spike. The hang time on the loop on the reverse trip was actually pretty cool though.

Side note: Zinga at Holiday World was da bomb!

Bob Hansen
Operation Wicked Twister 2 - Goal: Lose 100 pounds by next season so I will DEFINATELY be able to ride Wicked Twister. Progress: 14 pounds. Doin' the Atkins!

It's funny how everyone hears the reviews of S:UF , concentrates hard on them throughout the ride , and then says the same exact thing. The whole ride is great.(SFOG)

Especially at night with a light sprinkle.:)

Exceeded Expectations;Greezed Lightning. This ride is sooooo much fun. We rode it six times , and the backwards hangtime is great.

Exceeded Expectations: Scooby Doo. I actually thought it was more fun than MIB. The spinning and having to hit the targets is just too hard for me.

About expected: Delirium. I knew it would be great and it totally was.

Worse than expected:Zinga. Itwasn't as good as Hyped , and definately not the best waterslide I've been on.:(

There are so many new to me rides that I can't say half of them.

SFOG: Land of freaky Drop rides.

I wasn't let down by the S:UF's this season because I wasn't expecting much in the first place. Every time I visit Great America, I ride it hoping to find a reason to like it, other than the pretzel of course. I don't know why I thought Great Adventure's would be any better.

I'm looking forward to my first Dragster launch this Sunday, and the expectations are about as high as that top hat is.

------------------
Never Has Gravity Been So Uplifting.

Better then expected: New Mexico Rattler. That is a good thing about getting on something that hardly anybody has been on.

Worse then expected: La Revolucion I loved Delirium when I went to Pga last year but La Revolucion wasn't as intense. It is not helped by the fact that it replaced two of my favorite flat rides.

About like expected: Scream! I didn't care for Medusa East and Scream! was only marginally better. Actually, if I were to go back and ride Medusa again. I'd probably like it more.

EXCEEDED my expectations:

Top Thrill Dragster (so far 12 rides in 2003. I can't get enough of that launch)

Delirium (the KING of Ohio flat rides)

Hurricane Mountain (SFWoA's giant slide complex was an awesome addition this year)

Hypersonic (after riding TTD, it looked lame but I haven't laughed so hard on a coaster in a long time) - this was a new ride for me.

Volcano (It LOOKS plain and simple but this ride just kicks major butt) - this was also a new ride for me.

MET my expectations:

S:UF at SFGAm - good ride but the Vekoma flyers do more. Love the trains and the way the trains lift/lower in the station.

Deja Vu - it was closed the two days I was there. Will I EVER get on this POS at least once in my lifetime?

X Factor

I didnt get any new rides this year, but the ones that improved a lot.

Deja Vu got a whole lot smoother and it was open each of the 6 times I went there. I have been 12 times to SFOG and it has only been closed once.

SUF I always thought it was excellent and and the green grass and tunnels improve it.

GASM got a whole lot smoother, redskies at night airtime delight, redskies in morning riders take warning.

Rampage What can I say. Its reopened and running faster than it ever has. A truly amazing ride. Definetly my number one overall. (though only other 'big time' woodie I have ridden is raven)

Ninja got smoother, didnt induce a migraine, just a gave me severe headpounding.

Hmm... Deja Vu went from my #one at SFOG to # 2 at SFOG because it got considerably rougher. I don't know.

------------------
The ONLY place to ride Ninja is Second From Back. Much more fun.

I was only on 1 New For '03 ride, and TTD definately lived up to expectations..

I don't dislikeMindbender, it just isn't "all that and a bag of chips." I feel Zonga is a little more unique in overall ride experience and Mindbender just felt a little bland to me.

Underwhelming: Timber****: Ride of ****. Here I thought I'd witnessed the building and birth of a legend. Instead, I got crapped on.

Overwhelming: TTD (it still isn't a coaster to me, no matter how much you argue about it. It's a thrill ride!)

Fave experience: SRM, regardless of the death. Tied for second with TTD in the front seat, Delirium. That SOB kicks mega ass. :)

This coming from the biggest "woodie snob" in the book:

I only rode TTD this year, but it will be something I think I will remember for the rest of my life. Probably one of the top 5 coaster memories of my life, up there with riding Magnum for the first time with my sister Gretchen, my first SRM, being on Splash Mountain at DL with my Dad and watching the fireworks from there etc...

Exceeded my expectations: Legend at Holiday World, Delerium (best flat ride I've ever experienced)

Met my expectations: Raven at HW, Dragster at CP.

Nasai, So TTD is not coaster, yet you list it in your track record? ;)

Not sure how TTD is NOT a coaster... but to each his own, I suppose.

Sorry to hear that Timber-whatever didn't turn out like you expected... I, too, thought it was going to be one of the surprises of the year.

Exceeded Expectations: Legend and Raven in the dark at SRM. To parrot what I heard many others say that night, I think I saw God on the Legend. Also was blown away by the experience of staying onsite at CP. So great to have the hotel room right there to go and take a break from the action.

Below Expectations: TTD - the launch was fun, but it just didn't seem that forceful to me. PKI - took my first visit to this park this year and was way underwhelmed. When an Arrow Suspended and a Vekoma Invertigo are your park's best coasters, there is a problem.

Exceeded expectations: Unemployment. Since getting laid off in January, I've nearly doubled my track record.

Also exceeded expectations: 1. TTD - simply amazing. 2. MF - the layout is only boring if you're not going 90+ mph. 3. Deja Vu at SFGAm - wild, wild ride. 4. BGW, in general - when I die, this is where I want to go.

Met expectations: S:UF at SFGAm - not much to it, but definitely fun.

Did not meet expectations: PKI and SFOT - had fun, but both parks seemed to lack some of the magic I was hoping for.
